Paypal always rolls over...

I created a website (real estate website) for this guy about a year ago.. I know he fell on hard times and is looking for money anywhere he can find it. I wouldn't be suprised to find him doing other "charge backs"The November payment was for four months BACK HOSTING as he was behind in payments. After November he never paid again, and is over 4 months behind again.. So if you do this charge...

Re:How Much Is an Astronaut's Life Worth? on Friday January 27, 2012 @12:41PM (#3519180)
Here is where you supposedly "smart" people are morons.

We didn't go to the moon in the first place.

They jumped the shark when they showed people on dune buggies on the moon.

They won't go back because when people see how hard it is to land and relaunch with human life in tow, the world will know we didn't go in the first place.

Nobody will be going to the moon until it doesn't matter that the world finds out we didn't go in the first place.

Ask yourself. What is easier: scamming a trusting, patriotic 60's public on TV or landing a human being on a foreign planet.., whats harder? Having people drive a dune buggie, then relaunching and landing safely back on earth or setting up a desert set piece to look like the moon. Or maybe a Hollywood studio to look like the moon. I've seen the video. It's a joke.

And you're shocked we never went back to the moon? Please! How gullible can you be?

(Emailed to GoDaddy CEO and GoDaddy PR earlier today as an Open Letter)Dear CEO,You're under attack and the only reason I am not moving my domain names because of a salesman name "Ron" (and the fact that nobody else can host domains below 8$).You can look up my customer number ([email protected]) and see that I have about 250 domain names. If NameCheap.com gets smart and gets their domain name...

Awesome. This obvious patent crap has to go. Unless real blood is shed the government will do nothing...
Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:30PM (#2971977)
You were voted out. Like me for other comments above. These are idiots who dont have substantive arguments. When they lose their jobs. Retirement. Etc. Serves em well.
Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:26PM (#2971966)
You are voted down by the idiots who will wonder why they're broke one day (or not wonder cuz these smart alecs think they have it figured out). Like the post office their logic is flawed and one day when the RETIREMent they expected doesn't happen they'll whine and bitch.

Guess what. No retirement! Its a frigging ponzzi scheme! The fact that that isn't foremost on peoples mind as well as other corruptions is proof they're idiots!

Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:20PM (#2971954)
Simple solution to all this. But like most GOOD solutions it isn't without pain. Create a state in the union with very little or no regulations to compete with china. Boom. Done. Like how Nevada has great gambling and built their economy around that and ton this day no state has anything like the las Vegas strip.

It won't happen. America will continue to sink against china et al counties with no regulation. I have no mercy.. Don't take my advice. Go out of business

There is NO solution without real pain/sacrifice..

Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:16PM (#2971941)
No mercy. Let em go out of business. It is a corrupt monopoly. Try to start a competing taxi business. (or tow business) and you'll see you do NOT live in a free market. Again. No mercy. After decades they'll be getting theirs.. (yes I tried once upon a time)
Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:14PM (#2971933)
Let em go out of business. Back when I was jobless they never would have gave me a second look even though I could have ( and still can) streamline their business..

No mercy for stupidity, inefficiency and incompetence..

Re:Are jobs obsolete? on Wednesday September 07, 2011 @07:11PM (#2971927)
Don't have much mercy when I read these kinds of stories. I went to a job interview back in 2000 for a 28,000 a year job. Knew 6 computer languages and significantly more than the interviewee and all this colleges employees. (in my opinion) this was a small college in Michigan. They never called me back. A few weeks later I started a small company. Today I make upwards of 250k a year. No college education. They (college people) can all go starving on the street like they would have left me and my two new born twins. No help from the "establishment" for me no matter how smart I was. Let em all lose their jib and starve.. Let em be in college debt. I smirk at the barrages who would have let me go homeless every time I read stories like this.

No quarter wad given to me. Now that theyre expected to oroduce. Now thier college means diddle it is my turn to watch from the sidelines.

I know that if I don't make money MYSELF nobody ----especially "college" people will help..

Posted from an iPad I never would have had if I let the establishment guide my life..

Re:When patents attack Android on Wednesday August 03, 2011 @09:10PM (#2844067)
Your mixing ip protection with software patents. Avatar is protected by copyright. Nobody disputes the need for that. Even hardware patents are often fine. To "patent" the idea that (and this is one of many examples" ) you can buy something with only "one click" is silly. There are probably patents on filling list boxes, ordering checkboxes in thee columns, goofy crap like that. This is why HN people (many of them programmers like me abhor software patents. )

Patenting a specific very complex algorithm -specifically- might be ok, but general ideas are not.

Wow. You hit the nail on the head. Now for the reality. Reality is that human death is ok as long as there is a value to society. Traveling quickly saves time and creates a huge value to people and the government. IE people make more money and pay more taxes than if there were no cars.

This is why speed limits went up awhile back. It's a balancing act. Human life is worth a certain amount to the government but isn't priceless. So, not only will they not ban cars, but not lower speed limits too much.

Imagine the lives saved if there were discriminators on cars that made it so they would not go over 55mph. Lives saved, yes, but productivity lost..

I'm just another programmer geek (started w/ a commodore 64 / Atari 800 - I had both) I saw on CNN online/video a program/story about african human rights violations, etc. and thought about you. As you know, Steve Balmer's days are numbered. I like Steve Balmer. He is as good as any CEO could be. (Listen.. I'm relatively old school, I was in my mid/early (22... 23) twenties at the Microsoft...

Already Made It.. Applying to MIT

http://www.webcontentsolutions.com

I saw a story yesterday about someone applying to MIT and it got my interest up.. I've already 'made' it (so to speak) I make just under $500k a year.. I too programmed Apple II computers, but also Atari 800 and C64 (ohhh.. how beloved!)I am in a place in my live where I could move to Boston for shits and giggles, and I certainly could keep up with the MIT academia. My IQ is well in Genius...
