Where are you based? You should be able to find some oil free alternatives

There's a barista version for some brands and it comes with a small amount of rapeseed oil added in which helps with the blending process.

Normal oat milk curdles otherwise.

Have you substituted butter out too?

For cooking in most things the taste is generally better (unless you're trying to make a buttery croissant) and there's no impact on quality.

I do find it hard to substitute out eggs though.

The best tasting plant based milk I've had and consume regularly is Plenish Oat Milk (UK).

It's particularly creamy without having any oil additives, not great for frothing in coffee though.

What's up with the title? Assuming they're not sending a cake due to covid and remote working etc - makes it seem very clickbaitish.

This may be wrong, but a friend in logistics once told me that some companies insure large shipments to a partial amount.

So if you budget to lose X% of shipments a year that's inline with the savings of Y% payments.

I was in Portugal last week and was surprised by how safe it felt.

Everyone still wears masks indoors and in built up areas, sanitiser was available everywhere, people checked our vaccination status when sitting indoors.

They're not major points but it definitely felt like people went out of their way to be conscious of others and the virus which is different to how I feel people in the UK treat the virus now (eg mask usage on the tube is virtually non existent).

Most of this is largely anecdotal on my part but I feel countries that continue to do a little now will get long term benefits (eg mandatory mask use in public transport)

Paying tax is good for society, what's not great is companies avoiding it. The latter doesn't negate the former.

Give quality sparkling water a go if you can, eg San Pellegrino, Castello, Harrogate (glass only), etc.

The COVID strategy isn't the reason for their fallout. It is the government's attack on the CCP and pushing for an inquiry.

My comments weren't about Australian financials; however the lockdown isn't the only contributor

- The political fallout between China and Australia is worsening, the long term ramifications don't look good. This isn't attributibal to the lockdown.

- Australia's short term economy is currently recovering well after lockdown [1]

Yes, this would make sense.

It took Victoria, Melbourne over three months of a hard lockdown to get the numbers to Zero.

If you compare some of the attitudes in both policing and policy to Australia and the response between parties you'll understand why the UK can never get there.

Consider this:

- Victoria handed out 20K~ fines by August 26 [1]

- England & Wales handed out 25K~ fines between 27 March and 16 November [2]

- The UK has 120K~ police officers [3]

- Victoria has 21K~ police officers [4]

An Australian State which has only 10%~ of England's population (6M people vs 55M) and only 17% of England's Police Force size managed to get 20K~ fines by August.

The attitude there-in lies down to effective policing and policies.

Eg Melbourne made it a mandatory requirement to wear face masks in public - I don't think the UK could get close to that. Time will tell.
