Re:Art: Keep using Arc after shutdown on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @07:21PM (#50267281)
Arc Browser (my browser for 5-6 years straight) shuts down soon with basically no similar alternatives offering the same UX. There are many Chromium forks out there but they mostly keep adding AI to a browser that does not need it (in Dia, you cannot even turn off AI) or are buggy with bad UX.

So directed a bunch of agents into Arc to try and copy Arc as a seperate app locally, blocking Browser Company servers and cloud storage.

It copies the Arc.app you have on Mac and your Arc data into ~/Applications/ArtBrowser.app. There is a small launcher and an inject library turning off sync and updates blocking requests from BrowserCo. Your original Arc is not changed. The repo has no Arc code or binaries.

curl -fsSL https://arcreborn.cool.computer/install-artbrowser.sh | bash. Read the script first if you like. It's plain text, it uploads nothing, and the only thing it downloads is the 1.9 MB launcher, checked against a SHA-256 in the script. --uninstall removes it again.

If anything is off, not secure or not working, feel free to make contributions!

More Money than God

Tells individual stories of hedge funds and their founders such as Simmon, Tudor-Jones, Soros and more

Great lessons in how each thought about markets, how they lost and made money

Show HN: Codewindow – Picture in picture for terminal agents

https://codewindow.app/

Hey HN - when I first started using Arc browser from the Browser Company, I loved the picture in picture feature they got for videos running in the background. When you switch desktops or windows, the video would just pop up and keep playing in a different desktop and you were able to move the widget around or size it.I found myself having a similar need for coding agents. This is because...

Kind of weird that it is launched as "Experiments" platform and inference is the only experiment. Wish they had made up their minds about launching this and launched it as a alpha version or smt

Show HN: MoneyCo – A coding agent built for accounting

https://thecompany.money/

Hey HN - Mert here, maker of MoneyCo (thecompany.money). MoneyCo connects to multiple Quickbooks and Xero accounts by default and lets you do your bookkeeping using a coding agent.I got here after talking to multiple accountants and hearing them struggle to use Claude, Codex, Hermes and OpenClaw. The difficulties they had were classic:1. QBO and Xero MCPs are brittle and allow limited access...

I did build a very similar product putting emphasis on integrations and security. It was tough to churn anyone out from Replit, Lovable and then CC and Codex.

When I talked to Lovable team, they told me Lovable is used primarily for prototyping, not internal tools and they are having a rough time trying to change the use case.

Hope my experience helps!

this is amazing, great idea

Show HN: Gora – simple search across all your local coding agents

https://github.com/mertdeveci5/gora

Hey HN - Gora is a local cli app that indexes your chat threads across Codex, Claude Code and Pi automatically and lets you simply search across them all at onceThe problem I wanted to fix here for myself was that each time I directed the agent to read previous chats, it had to rediscover the folder structure and the threads stored for each coding agent. Moreover Codex and Claude Code chats...

GPT-5.5 on the benchmarks still seem to perform better than this

Plus the vibe of the gemini models are so weird particularly when it comes to tool calling

At this point I kinda need them to shock me to make the switch
