I liked Kagi a lot, but gave up on it as I couldn’t configure it as a default search engine on iOS. Ended up with Duckduck go.
I understand that your comment is related to publicity that this event got, but I chuckled when I read that Honda is an unexpected source of serious engineering :)
A few months ago I tried a new JBL receiver. It was trash (the worst I have tried and I tried 5 or 6 different ones for my room). I also saw their soundbar and their vintage speakers. I wouldn’t agree that JBL makes quality products, but that is just my experience.

I had a situation recently that a business partner I was interacting with on several projects ended up indicted (nothing related to our projects, some other shady stuff that he was doing). I found out about that accidentally, but then searching the Internet a bit, I easily found that I could know that something is happening months or even years ago. This event made me wonder if there is a...
Email. All my notes, plans, todos, reminders (via snooze/send later) are in the email. I also use calendar to keep the family in sync. My current "life database" (i.e. inbox) is on the iCloud (like everything else, so it is good for Legacy Contact, when I pass away), though it was in google workspaces before and it can be on anything else in the future (including self-hosted server).

I was wondering what are the advantages of having a GitHub Copilot vs having a ChatGPT window pinned in your browser (or on the second screen), besides that CoPilot is there in your IDE. Is it more likely to produce a working or better code, that is in line with what you already have in the solution? Is there any research that proves that?

I was looking for a platform that runs Playwright test scripts in an automated way to check if the web application is working as expected (similar to Pingdom checks), but also to be able to run a load test (similar to flood.io, which actually does use Playwright under it's Element scripting engine). Anyone aware of such tool?

Someone on a different thread suggested to use the screentime (with a different passcode) and disable icloud settings. Works like a charm.
Wow! Used it only for kids so far, didn't figure out that it is actually a hidden security jewel :) Thank you!
What do you mean by this: "use Screen Time to disable making changes to your account"?
This community is funny at times.
A lot of people had their opinions on those two threads, didn't they?
Kudos to the ones who questioned the origin of the phenomenon instead of declaring immediately that the world is falling.
Another problem that I have is iCloud+ storage limit of 4TB. My family will very soon get very close to this limit with all our photos, videos and other stuff. Is anyone aware of any plans for an increase in near future?
I was in 6th grade when I found "The C Programming Language" on the floor in my friend's house. I picked it up, took it home, and read it cover to cover. I didn't have a computer then, but I was absolutely sure about what I wanted to do in my life.
Thank you, Mr. Ritchie and Mr. Kernighan for opening the world of computer science for me.
I do have astigmatism, which (reading comments now), might turn out to be important thing in light vs dark mode discussion.
Exactly the feeling that I have (claustrophobic).

Seeing fellow programmers left and right switching to dark mode and everyone seems very happy. I gave it a try a few times but it just doesn't work. I can't focus. It is not the time that I need to get used to a different syntax highlighting scheme because I switch between editors all the time. I'm perfectly fine as long as the background is lighter than the foreground, so it has to do something...
You can use them from browser if you use duckduckgo as your search engine. There is still not an option to navigate there (if you are, for example, planning your trips in advance). Very basic, unfortunately.
Since we already use MS Office (and paying for Office 365 subscription), moving to MS "ecosystem" looks like more and more likely option.
The only problem there is video conferencing (Skype is awful), but we use some other solutions for that, anyways (as enterprise customers we are dealing with are really not accustomed to meet.
Can't believe that MS looks agile compared to Google when it comes to these things. It seems that Ad business is eating up all the talent over there...

Our organization uses GSuite for emails and Google Drive.About a year ago, we were thinking about implementing Slack and Confluence, but looking at google's offerings at the time (new Google Sites and Hangouts Chat), we postponed this migration and decided to stay with GSuite (use unfinished Google products in the meantime).Unfortunately, Google keeps pushing them further into the future, and I...
