Slightly tangential, but how do you collect training data for AI/ML models you are developing

Ask HN: How do you collect training data for your Machine Learning / AI projects

I am looking for services ML researchers (or hobbyists) use to get training data for their models. If you use one of the popular services like Amazon's Mechanical Turk, or Crowdflower, what kind of tasks do you submit to those services. Are tasks typically a classification tasks, where user is presented with a set of classes and is required to select one (or more) classes that identify the task...

What percent of company do you expect in return. YC has a pretty deterministic formula. Do you have a similar formula? Or do you decide (or negotiate) on a case-by-case basis

Ask HN: Rest api authorization

I am working on service which exposes REST API.What is the best way to implement authorization for incoming requests.* Identify who is making the request. Can we use api key for this.* Make sure this REST api can be used just as easily using curl. I am not sure how to do this, as I dn't think exposing API key is a good idea. I can ask clients to hash request params with api key, but that makes...

Re:Square jumps in market debut on Thursday November 19, 2015 @02:27PM (#10596943)
It is truly amazing how bankers always get away with this kind of incompetent non-sense. Every single time a stock sees a "jump", it is because those "analysts" did a poor job in evaluating stock price. And company going IPO is leaving money on the table, which is stolen by those greedy (too polite a term for bankers) bankers.

What does killer-robots.txt mean. And what do /+LarryPage links point to? (His google plus profile?)
Congrats!! Would be great to know how this was made possible. Did Google approach Twilio, or did Twilio approach Google, or is there a third party services partner program that any developer can follow

Script should generate the URL/URI. it is basically location of your backup in dropbox folder.

You can find out the url by doing the following 1. Go to root dir (top dir) of project you are backing up 2. run following command 'git remote -v'

It should show you the location where you are going to push to

Re:Ask HN: Would you use a prediction market mobile app on Tuesday December 18, 2012 @05:17AM (#4936873)
There will be virtual currency involved. So, when users participate and if they predict correctly they will earn virtual currency.

Most of the events in prediction markets involve something that user already knows what is going to happen.

Ask HN: Would you use a prediction market mobile app

I want to develop a mobile app for prediction markets, which allows users to predict outcome of events, e.g. Will Life of Pi win "Best movie" Academy award. Before developing I want to know if there is enough demand for such an application. Would you use such an app if it is available in the market right now. There is a popular prediction market sit e called InTrade, which is recently banned in...
