Hi - they say stand the shoulders of the giants. I want to be original but also not re-invent the process so want to learn from companies that are doing really well and re-apply to my situations.

Ask HN: What is the best way to learn DevOps?

Posted by vsax on Friday May 12, 2017 @01:54PM
from the ask-hn dept.

I have a web app and I am always scared that it is not secure enough or a lot of traffic will bring it down if I don't do it right. Ideally I want a QA server and then a Prod and I want the deployment automated from Github or Gitlab.

Posted by vsax on Wednesday May 03, 2017 @09:29AM
from the ask-hn dept.

Hi - Everytime I find a cool company, I check out their jobs page and look if a specific job is available. If its not available, I am looking for something that can notify me via an email at least as soon as the job gets available. Anything that does that?

How do you evaluate what to charge the sponsors? My site http://thelogo.site showed up on the front page of HN and then ever since traffic has been growing. I have been just making money off of leads through the site asking for custom logos(on average about $2000 per month). But some people have enquired about sponsorship.

I created MEAN studio, www.meanstudio.com, where I charge $25 per hour to create highly functional prototypes in couple of weeks. I use existing code from other projects so my coding velocity is fast and never charge the clients more time than I spent on it. Clients see the quality and speed and just spread the word. I am making $1500 per month in the 3rd month of it running.
