true, missed this
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:05PM (#50296841)
UPD: This is related to the Polymarket security incident, not Binance. Sorry, I missed that.

Per Changpeng Zhao (former Binance CEO):

This seems to be caused by DebugBear compromise: https://x.com/debugbear/status/2115866496643535293?s=46&t=_R...

it appears to be an injection attack on the front end. injecting incorrect tx, but showing a valid tx for the user to sign.

Polymarket also reported a security incident: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50295883
Yeah, highly possible, could just be a coincidence
Re:DebugBear Security Incident on Thursday October 29, 2026 @05:20PM (#50296186)
Per DebugBear:

We're impacted by an ongoing security incident.

If you use our RUM product, please remove the embed code from your website.

UPD: there are rumours that Polymarket was compromised due to the DebugBear incident https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50295883

Re:Polymarket got hacked on Thursday October 29, 2026 @05:18PM (#50296161)
UPD: this may have been caused by the DebugBear compromise https://x.com/DebugBear/status/2115866496643535293
Re:Polymarket got hacked on Thursday October 29, 2026 @05:00PM (#50295884)
Polymarket:

We've identified & fixed an issue impacting our international platform, Polymarket .com. One of our 3rd party providers was compromised, and we have referred this to relevant law enforcement.

Anyone who has been impacted will be made whole.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted trading & are working to bring the platform back online.

Really cool idea! Will give it a spin.

I’m currently using https://kiwix.org for the offline access to Wikipedia, but your Survival LLM looks even better.

Crazy day for cybersecurity: PHP RCE, eMudhra certificates, and now Railway.

And it’s all just getting started imo.

sorry, I thought it might be interesting to see the backstory of the company. I also clearly marked that part of my comment is from ChatGPT.

I can delete my comment, though.
