Show HN: Read stories 10x faster with your AI reading assistant

https://www.storywiz.io/

Hi Hacker News. I am currently building [storywiz.io](http://storywiz.io) (https://www.storywiz.io/), an AI reading assistant which makes online reading more productive and fun.I, like many of you here, do a lot of online reading. In a typical month, I read hundreds of articles and stories related to my work and personal interests. Every time I land on a website to read a story, I realize how...

I gave it another try after many years and I must say since last year or so they made significant improvement in performance and speed. Another area they shine particularly well is privacy. They made some privacy features baked into the browser itself, which is a good move.

Google Lens works great in individual use cases, wonder what they are using behind the scene.

In my case I need to extract data on server side, so a library/API will be most suitable.

Does it work well with scanned PDF? In my experiments it was not giving the correct output.

Ask HN: What OCR tool do you use in your project?

I am working on a project where I want to extract data from PDF document. Sometimes these are scanned PDF or forms.I am looking for for an OCR tool (paid or open source) which can effectively extract data from poorly scanned documents and forms. What do you use?

It'd be cool if this can be a VSCode plugin.
Hacking of connected devices is the new threat for humanity.

Ask HN: What is a good traction in one month after the launch of the product?

We launched our startup Emotify (https://www.goemotify.com/) on 7th July and we just completed our first month. It’s been an amazing experience building our product with a small but talented, capable and enthusiastic team. We have been working on the product from over 6 months and finally got to launch it last month. We haven’t spent any budget in launch or marketing of our product as we wanted...

Ask HN: When Twitter is going to fix it's URL shortening?

Most of the time Twitter won’t let you tweet 140 character because of Twitter’s bad URL shortening strategy. Twitter’s shortened URL eats more than 22 characters. That is over 15% of Twitter’s 140 character limit. So if we try to tweet something with a link in it, we actually have 115-120 characters to tweet instead of 140. That is around 85% of what Twitter actually provides, rest 15% is...

Lately, Meteor has been the de-facto choice for all our side projects. It is really simple and powerful.

Crunchbase and Crunchbase-like platforms are more data-centric as they give you exhaustive feed of startups with the amount of funding raised, while FundingHunt is a story-centric platform, which is more human way to consume this kind of information.

Also, features like upvoting and discussion thrive more significantly if it has a user-submitted model rather than automated feed.

I have written more about it in my Medium post here: https://medium.com/startup-study-group/why-did-i-create-fund...
