Been hearing from colleagues about a flood of applicants, and within those, a large majority have no business applying (i.e. no visa support, not in appropriate city, not right general skills, fake person). So how early in the process:1) initial resume upload & pre-screening questions
2) second pass for more info
3) initial discovery call (5-30 minutes)TIA.
Really terrific contribution.
This was a terrific back and forth between the community with a lot of genuine insights. Kudos!
Well said indeed. We're finally getting back to the unvarnished truth, it's only returns on capital that truly matters.
Just say no unless they have an immediate and definitive way to bolster your efforts and energy. Life is too short. Intense focus is critical to success.
Are there any other places folks congregate to complain about recruiting on LinkedIn? I am working on a hiring-support-as-service platform to assist small companies and these kinds of sour grapes would be invaluable. Thanks in advance!
Comfortably estimating 90% of all the foreigners I know are leaving (or have already left) by the end of the year. End of energy and dynamism, possibly forever.

To protect the innocent/guilty, I won't name the company here.1. Need a data source, which previously was open for commercial use, for one of my MVP features2. After a merger, company now offers a "no-cost" license to use so long as proper attribution is given and brief approval process is completed. Have been talking with them off/on multiple times for 12 months to gain access. Seems I am too...
Thank you for this reality check. I hear the same from fair-minded colleagues in academia.
3-5 a week, a few months ago. LI has done a good job of reducing to 1-2 every 2 weeks. Reject enough obvious fake ones and there is a self-learning component.
because, depending on the customers, they do not know the technologies to help them exist, or they mistakenly believe are only available to their big kahuna, deep-pocketed competitors.
Very strange, unsure what is going on, but I have not been able to access posthog site for 2 days. On/off VPN from mainland China.
I blame companies with their ridiculous and morally corrupt, "fam this" and "fam that" when they sought to squeeze more productivity out of their workforce by playing on emotional connections to real blood family. So they got highly opinionated, grossly over-demanding employees as a result.
Boy, I would love to see an API for the analytical tools.
This is incredibly invaluable. Thank you.
I struggle with it while focused intensely building my MVP which I am enjoying immensely. Take a walk with the dog often and be prepared and give yourself the time, when your body needs to shut down on periodic random days. It will let you know or else you will start getting sick more often (flu, common colds), etc.
Yes, automated posts of pre-existing branded content by pretend users/posters/authors. It's horribly affected the overall experience.
Unstructured text extraction technologies is getting so good. This will go away in short order, I hope.
I am glad things got straightened out. OP is one of the good guys. Very intriguing posts on Raspberry Pi over the years.
Whatever you do, I admire your journey, struggles and seeking a better way. Pain is personal and relative through life's cycles. All the best.
I really appreciate this question and insights below. Keep the coming please!
I totally agree but we are fighting the tide (ran a resume, linkedin profile, and interview prep shop for 6 years). Everything in the process is being analyzed, parsed and benchmarked using AI, soon to a more granular level. I even came across some interview analysis software which measured the angle of the person's head along with tone and a bunch of other factors!
I've been a client of invoice ninja for 5+ years. Very pleased with the extremely fast customer service requests and constant feature rollouts. They truly care about their clients' success.
I've spent the last 6 years advising clients on resumes, interviews, linkedin strategies. Pivoted to supporting companies hiring.
The vast majority of clients did research on the platform and then were "checked out" by employers. The submit by linkedin attempts seemed to go into dark hole. Better to make a contact at the company and/or apply direct if you can.
Awesome to hear it's going strong!
