Re:Italian privacy regulator bans ChatGPT on Friday March 31, 2023 @09:54AM (#35387199)
I would call it very woke, exaggerating political correctness to the point of being clownish.
Re:Should we at some point pause AI development? on Thursday March 30, 2023 @07:35AM (#35371087)
While there is only 1 biggest player (openAI) I would say we can, but if it gets to a point where we have multiple players i suppose it would be extremely hard without proper controls already in place.
Re:Should we at some point pause AI development? on Thursday March 30, 2023 @07:23AM (#35370986)
To me this is quite an interesting idea, I am not sure if now is the correct time to pause it. Or how to spot when it is correct time. What are your thoughts?
Re:Speak English to me, The secret World of Programmers on Friday March 17, 2023 @05:29AM (#35194930)
I feel like github is not the right place to put a blog, reading any text there that is longer than single line gets me eyestrain.
Re:Is there a license to protect my code and art from AI? on Monday January 16, 2023 @04:56AM (#34398836)
Would be interested in art copyright too. But honestly I have no idea how to prove that ML model was trained on my art.
Re:Parsing JSON Is a Minefield (2018) on Friday January 13, 2023 @09:21AM (#34368076)
yesterday there was a rant about parsing yml and its different versions/datatypes support
Re:I built a wildlife pond [video] on Wednesday December 14, 2022 @06:26AM (#33982170)
One of the most inspiring "small" things a man can do. On a side note It really shows the guy doing this video is fully enjoying what he does.
Re:Artificial womb facility concept for 30k babies per year on Monday December 12, 2022 @09:47AM (#33955153)
even though intentions are noble it awfully reminds me of matrix scenes
just wait until amazon starts playing it on their website, (it is doable with autoplay after first click) :)
Re:Ask HN: What interesting problems are you working on? on Friday September 16, 2022 @01:15PM (#32869151)

Re:Ask HN: What interesting problems are you working on? on Friday September 16, 2022 @01:13PM (#32869114)
thats interresting I had some thoughts about ferrofluids and magnets as a way to build perpetual motion.
it has gotten so bad in usa, with creep calling. Seems whenever somebody is not happy with something their immediate response is you are a creep. I find those kind of people disturbing.
Re:Is there a general factor of intelligence? on Friday March 25, 2022 @11:16AM (#30803177)
article is quite misleading, I can't believe author wasted 5 mins of my life explaining data science and visualisation while all I cared for are answers.
I would say p2p always has that stigma about copyright stuff, but at the same time there is most certainly business opportunities in that field.
Re:You don't need that CORS request on Monday January 03, 2022 @08:27AM (#29780545)
imho CORS is poorly designed mechanism, you should be able to flag api.domain.com as a safe place, making a single cors request at start of user interaction with your app. Also some sort of caching should be more than welcome.

On a side note at previous company I've worked at, speed was critical, so we were forced to do same tactic, use /api instead of api.domain.com which resulted in huge improvements :)

Re:Wish HN: Happy Holidays on Friday December 24, 2021 @01:38PM (#29676364)

Re:Ask HN: What you up to? (Who doesn't want to be hired?) on Tuesday November 02, 2021 @01:37AM (#29077480)
I've got super hc into media. Built a netflix party for torrents this year https://jarvisplayer.com and now I am building a bitorrent live. It streams your own built tv-channels (media streams) with a couple of min delay on any supported client. Besides that got a girlfriend and getting used to living together
