It is very easy to learn and is similar to Laravel.

How is this compared to FeathersJS?

sqlx is nice but I wish it had query logging.

Yahoo could not decide whether it was a technology company or media company...

This is the closest "known" interaction:

> An example is Germany (9.2 metric ton per capita) which decided to shutdown their nuclear facilities.

Yes, they replaced it with coal plants...

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-11-14/germany-i...

> I just don't see how nuclear has a bright future in any regard.

How about in space or on other planets?

> And while nuclear is certainly much less CO2 intensive than any fossil-fuel source even a pro-nuclear body's publication shows that wind produces approximately as much CO2/GWh over an installations lifetime as nuclear does.

And what if it's not windy?

---

Keep in mind, almost ALL the nuclear power plants built are based on 1950-1960s technology (designed for naval applications). That would be like comparing solar panels from that era with the panels designed/produced today. There is no comparison.

No money going towards nuclear....

If people were serious about ACTUALLY reducing carbon emissions, then baseload power production would be nuclear.

Please look at France as an example.

France: 5.0 metric tons per capita (2013)

US: 16.4 metric tons per capita (2013)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_di...

Nuclear power is the largest source of electricity in the country, with a generation of 416.8 TWh, or 76.3%[2] of the country's total production of 546 TWh, the highest percentage in the world.

Re:Kodak shares up as it announces KODAKCoin cryptocurrency on Tuesday January 09, 2018 @01:29PM (#16108466)
Is your stock down? Don't worry, create or invest in a cryptocoin and profit...It's cheaper than a stock buyback.
I wish ISPs billed like a utility. Something like $10 connection fee + 10-15 cents per GB.

This will force bandwidth hogs to self-regulate. If you have the ability to purchase 4k/8k TVs, then you should be responsible for the associated streaming costs and not have others subsidize it.

Also, NN does nothing to foster competition - the real problem. All we have are a bunch of local monopolies/duopolies.

Maybe, this is their way of directing people into the vacant "ghost" cities.

I agree.

Angular 5.x?
Re:The State of JavaScript 2017 on Tuesday December 12, 2017 @07:34PM (#15910917)
Angular should be noted as AngularJS.

Angular 2 should be noted as Angular.

A+ for transparency.
How does this compare with NATS?
No, it will get delisted from the exchange at $1.

I think Blue Apron (APRN) listed too early. It's currently at $3 (from $10 at IPO).

By the way, why would you take financial advice from someone who spends 5 seconds thinking about your investment idea.

"Bear Sterns is fine!" @ $60 -> $4 (3 days later)

Agreed. If there are more men in the city, women should have more selection.

However, the diversity of men may be limited (e.g. they are all software engineers...). It would be like going to Baskin-Robbins and all they had was various types of strawberry ice cream.

Re:Bitcoin is fiat money, too on Friday September 22, 2017 @08:18PM (#15317179)
How does Bitcoin work offline? Let's say the world goes to hell (assume internet has been taken offline) and we need to trade using a form of trusted currency.

Just curious...

> The problem is our obsolete voting system which effectively prohibits a third party from winning.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commission_on_Presidential_Deb...

Multiple lawsuits have been filed by third-party candidates challenging the CPD's policy of requiring a candidate to have 15% support in national polls to be included in presidential debates. While the lawsuits have challenged the requirement on a number of grounds, including claims that it violates Federal Election Commission (FEC) rules and that it violates anti-trust laws, none of the lawsuits has been successful.

> The duopoly controlling today’s political competition has no accountability for results.

Sums it up perfectly...

China is an export driven economy. If a crash were to come, it would be because of a sudden lack of trade (e.g. 2008). Chinese companies are already heavily levered.
