This is a great addon. works on most channels.

I personally do not use it though as I do not have a problem with advertising in general. As long as there is no data collection and targeted ads, I am good to sponsor with my time.

Working for me. Pioneer broadband. Hyd.
Also in India, Disney+ is called Disney+Hotstar which is a much cheaper alternative to Netflix. Their most expensive plan is ₹1500/year compared to Netflix's ₹7788/year. Even Netflix's basic plan in India is ₹2388/year.
Re:Why Kreya isn't open source on Wednesday March 02, 2022 @10:21AM (#30528347)
Couldn't they have gone Intellij Idea route. Their community (free) version is Apache License 2.0, Ultimate (paid) version is closed source.
Interesting product. Do you play the videos from YouTube, if yes how do you embed them in your app. If no, do you host these videos on your end and how are they licensed from those content creators.

Re:Google backs off on previously announced Allo privacy feature on Wednesday September 21, 2016 @09:41AM (#12548037)
> Stay evil.

Wow. Google went a full 180 from being a company that promoted itself by saying "Don't be evil" to something evil. Couldn't Google have made its billions still being not evil, without its privacy issues, without its obnoxious desire for tracking everything. Did they turn to this evil for the money or just because they can do it (or if not someone else will).

Google's Search input field has autocomplete="off" setting. This is one of the popular use case I think.
Re:14-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Bringing Homemade Clock to School on Wednesday September 16, 2015 @10:11AM (#10226704)
How can they think that the clock was a bomb when it is ticking up rather than down.
> and a lot of flaws that I'm probably forgetting right now

when the first iPhone was announced, I couldn't help but think of an emergency use case where I could dial 911 on my old nokia even while it is switched off. Now I have to switch on my phone, unlock, open phone app, dialer and then 911. A total of 4 additional steps.

Was this addressed in some way that I am not aware of?

Re:Stop Firefox leaking data about you on Thursday June 25, 2015 @05:32PM (#9781047)
Yes. Hello sounds amazing, but it could have been an extension along with hundreds of other amazing extensions for firefox. The point is there are extensions that I use and there are extensions that I do not use. There is no reason to stuff something down my throat however amazing they sound.

Ask HN: How do you backup your lastpass data?

I have heard about lastpass here on HN a few years back and have been a happy premium customer since. My only concern is that I could not find a automatic way to backup my lastpass data so that I can set it up to run daily/weekly/monthly.Do any of you who use lastpass set this thing up. Is there any tool/script that does this?

Re:Show HN: Similar Phone Finder on Wednesday May 06, 2015 @10:01AM (#9498637)
This looks good. What I was expecting though was a low price phone which match the specs on my phone. I know those phones are out there, but I would like to sort by price (so that I can find cheapest), OS (android/windows/ios), manufacturer.
Re:Your PBX has been hacked on Monday May 04, 2015 @03:34PM (#9488505)
...and to press #4 to talk to their security department

Does something bad happen by pressing a number on dial pad or they just transfer to a human to talk to. Just curious because I heard from someone that pressing a button was good enough for the spammer who is calling you, but it does not makes sense how that can harm.

Re:On Mozilla's forced SSL on Friday May 01, 2015 @02:11PM (#9473406)

How do you deliver the signature to the client. If it is through the unencrypted channel, then the signature could also be MitM'd.

Re:Ask HN: Do you feel like you live in the future? on Thursday April 30, 2015 @02:11PM (#9466672)
Future was when I watched Steve Jobs flick his finger to scroll through contacts when he was introducing the first iphone. Prior to that I always felt scrolling through 200+ contacts on my sony ericsson phone was unnecessarily hard. It has been almost 8 years since and I can distinctly remember the awe on my face.

I am living in the future ever since.

Re:Open Sourcing Visual Studio’s GDB/LLDB Debug Engine on Thursday April 30, 2015 @10:54AM (#9465423)
I have debugged a C# application in VS and a Java application in IntelliJ and in Eclipse. I did not see any debugging features in VS that can claim its superiority over the others. May be I have not used all the features that were available.

Are there any features in VS debugger that are better or non-existent in Java IDEs?

Re:Working Remotely From A Tropical Island In Thailand on Thursday April 09, 2015 @09:40AM (#9347390)
Not sure about Thailand, but this is true for USA.

My colleague's wife is on H4 (dependant) visa and prior to coming to USA, she had a job in India. We talked to a lawyer and then with USCIS and both of them confirmed that it is not a possibility that she can work remote here in USA on H4 even though she gets paid in India.

The last statement reminds me of Linus saying

we do not break user space

If an application is utilizing a bug, it is not a bug but a feature

Re:The Solar System and Beyond Is Awash in Water on Wednesday April 08, 2015 @04:13PM (#9343587)
But this line of thinking eventually leads to Fermi Paradox.

The apparent size and age of the universe suggest that many technologically advanced extraterrestrial civilizations ought to exist. However, this hypothesis seems inconsistent with the lack of observational evidence to support it.

Why does the browser even allow any toolbar/extension to modify the content that was delivered on a HTTPS connection. Isn't the data that is delivered over HTTPS pristine that it should not be modified at the browser endpoint by the browser.

I am a layman in security and do not understand a lot of this. May be I missed something here. Is my question correct?

Re:Hindu units of time on Monday March 23, 2015 @03:13PM (#9252800)
I guess the relevance come from

"The current Universe was created in Padma kalpa, the last day Kalpa of 50 th year of Bramha. This is 10.51 billion years ago. This figure is close to modern estimated 13.78 billion years."

But now the question is was it pure luck that the ancient humans came up with a number that is close to the current scientific values or is there something that is lost in time. May be they were advanced than us and we just don't know. Of course, no evidence = grain of salt.
