Engineers are terrible prophets.
We should focus on the problems of "now". The future will catch up.

My experience exactly. It is broken.
From my experience, is a result of the high cost of employees, an increasing mount of HR practices and processes and a sense of entitlement from both the company and the candidate.
Something should be done to make technical and system design questions a thing of the past.
Culture fit is the only one unavoidable.

I am sorry, I can't take this seriously even if it comes from Mr. Fowler website. Mastodon has been around forever, but you decide to write an editorial piece because Twitter changed hands.
I believe in open communication protocols, however, I don't see we need to put this discourse behind identity politics and Diversity/Inclusion banners.

This is a cult like approach. The main proposition "Everyone is a racist, whether you know it or not", is an overstatement. There is no way you can tell "everyone" is a "racist", is just an aphorism with multiple interpretations. This has become the tool of identity politics and group thinking, throw and aphorism and let people fight over it. Unfortunate.

Identity politics and group thinking are the cancer of society. Everyone can be oppressed, everyone can be an opresor. Just give them a reason.

Why we don't have a way to federalize content generation and allow content to be distributed organically. Similar to what is happening with Podcasts. Is there any video podcast kind of format that you can subscribe to their RSS and get the video to be played in any platform that supports it?

This! I think we are needing something similar to podcasts for video, that will remove the incumbent players (youtube) from being the sole owners of the video content and instead they are one of many distributors.

If you want to learn about agriculture, find a farm you can support close to you, and enroll in a summer program. You will learn more if you get your hands dirty.

Smart Farming is the way! You need to concentrate in flavor and quality. Yield is a race to the bottom.

My response was too long, so I put it in my blog. https://www.yorch.co/what-i-think-about-food-production-and-...
I think the author has great points, but is not the full picture.
