Re:Resisting Cognitive Surrender on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @12:41AM (#50348511)
For musicians there already exists something called Suno: https://suno.com/
I did the first challenge or exercise, but I was honestly a little surprised that Vim motions aren't able to be used to choose the next exercise(s) in the sidebar that becomes visible. That could potentially be something that the player unlocks later on as well.
Re:Scaling Git at OpenAI on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @12:36AM (#50348485)
By my count, this OpenAI post is the fifth major article on the topic of scaling, with the previous four being:

- Cursor: https://cursor.com/blog/git-at-any-scale

- GitHub: https://github.blog/engineering/architecture-optimization/bu...

- Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/research/redesigning-source-contro...

- GitHub: https://github.blog/engineering/architecture-optimization/th...

Maybe also tangentially East River Source Control's too: https://ersc.io/blog/what-comes-after-git.

I'm wondering how much cross-pollination of ideas and subsequent implementation details there are between people working at these companies. It does seem like all of this could potentially converge.

Re:A farewell to Arc browser on Thursday October 22, 2026 @01:49PM (#50198754)
I've been using Arc for years now and am really sad to see it being sunset, but am now trying my luck with Zen browser. I'd really want to be on Dia as I have much respect for its original creators, but Atlassian being behind it kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I even tried to import my Arc account into Dia to get everything done and dusted quickly, but it failed to do so, asked me to try again in a few minutes or contact Atlassian support...
Re:We built our house for LAN parties on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @05:56AM (#49608089)
Agreed. It's clear that the owners have considerable financial resources, but seemingly no one thought to hire an interior designer/architect to consider how the place looks or functions outside of the gaming aspect. If that's their style, then more power to them; it just seems incredibly generic and like wasted potential.
Is this a tongue-in-cheek implementation of something someone off-handedly mentioned as a joke in the OpenAI wiki communication comments?
Re:Being Ambitious and Being a Dad on Wednesday August 19, 2026 @06:34AM (#49359604)
I've seen something similar with regards to neglecting child development, but instead of nappies, they're just not fed properly. People who have more disposable income than I could imagine, but are strapped for time, feed their children the simplest, most low effort food imaginable. Think a cheeseburger from McDonald's, plain pasta or bread, frosted flakes, etc. Their excuse is that their child won't eat anything else, but more often than not it's a matter of getting them accustomed with other foods, which of course takes time and effort.

I'm getting to the point where I too feel like I most likely won't be noteworthy in any professional sense (i.e. a name known across the industry), but at moments like that I take solace in the fact I'm taking time to spend with my son, learn alongside him, and provide him a life that I never had in so many other ways.

Re:Bible as RAG Database on Thursday June 25, 2026 @02:08AM (#48669596)
Thanks for creating this, this is really fun to play around with! Is the code for this out in the open if someone would want to peek under the hood?
Re:Ten years of ClickHouse in open source on Friday June 19, 2026 @09:17AM (#48598235)
Same question here!
I'm right in the target audience for this as I'm about to embark on a Kubernetes certificate. What is the proportion of official K8S documentation and your own notes and how could someone differentiate between them on that site?
Re:Homebrew 6.0.0 on Thursday June 11, 2026 @01:34PM (#48493553)
This is described here (https://docs.brew.sh/Tap-Trust) if you scroll down a bit.
Re:ChatGPT for Excel on Thursday April 16, 2026 @08:20AM (#47791940)
I'd love to get a link to that comment/post!
Re:The Missing GitHub Status Page on Friday February 13, 2026 @03:27PM (#47007407)
This is actually addressed at the bottom of the page, somewhat: https://mrshu.github.io/github-statuses/#about
Re:Every book recommended on the Odd Lots discord on Monday February 09, 2026 @03:35AM (#46943014)
Agreed. If that would be too cumbersome to add, then a simple counter showing how many times a book has been recommended would help guide, me at least, a little better than just categories.
This sounds interesting. Would you be able to share more information about this style of running? I'm having a hard time imagining how this plays out in real life.
