As for hiring manager, don't think it is too valuable. But it is not so difficult to build the one on Wix, Squarespace, or Tilda. So, if you are planning to have own blog and brand building it worth it.

I would say custom design, branding, and also heard that wix/squarespace are ranked lower in terms of SEO.

Both are good if you want a quick start & temporary solution or as a landing page for your all. But in a long run it is better to have a custom website.
