In the past few weeks I've beeing working with frontier AI - Opus 5.5, Astra, Sol 6.1, Fable 5.1 and Gemini Argon.AI has become really good at coding in some sense, that's undeniable, and there are people that say you don't really need to review their code anymore. But I keep getting stuck in a sensation that's between cognitive dissonance, FOMO, and a vague sense of being gaslit, because when I...
This is bananas!
One thing he doesn't mention is memory. What happens when the context runs out? How do agents preserve state and what are they continuously being prompted with?
Why only 20%? Is there a theoretical maximum?
For those dizzied by the quick unit changes:
Forest loss in Finland - 243,000 hectares = 600,000 acres
Finland total - 20.3-26.3 million hectares = 50-65 million acres
US forest loss - 1.2M hectares = 3M acres
US forest conversions - 1.05M hectares = 2.6M acres
Brazil - 985k hectares = 2.43M acres
India - 26,858 hectares = 66,368 acres
Thanks. It wasn't clear to me what the actual issue was from the headline.
I wonder if there'll be an episode of Hello Internet on it.
The study of arcane procedures and immigration of all sorts comes up here very often.
Now put six of them in a field and throw in a huge soccer ball.
The headline is "Online ads weaponised to deliver ‘zero-click’ spyware, researchers say"
You're right. Never in history and never anywhere else in the world have Jews been persecuted.
It's harder in the exact way that AI is good at, though. You need to slog through very large amounts of boilerplate until you find what you're looking for.
It's not really more complex once you're practiced at it, just tedious.
Even when a problem got solved, there has always been value in publishing simpler proofs and corollaries that give better intuition into the broader field.
If I understand Tao correctly, he's saying that's going to have to be the focus going forward. I just default to thinking the models are going to be much better than us at that, too.
Doesn't look like these proofs are from the book.
There are enough jurisdictions in the world where if the car really was good enough, they'd let it go. Even in the US.
It took some time for cars to be available even in good weather in specific places, so I'm guessing no, the cars aren't good enough.
I suspect the semantics are about how long in advance it's planned. A day or two? Planned. An hour? Hard sell.
Agents doxxing agents, in a way.
It's ridiculous. We need more doctors.
Somewhere there's a Charlie Munger quote about how that's the best thing about being rich - you don't have to spend time with people you don't like.
And I'm just sitting here looking at the Codex desktop mac app wondering why a list, a chat window and textbox require a 579 MB download (compressed) and 4 GB of RAM.
Climate doomers: Climate change will kill us all by the end of the century!
AI doomers: End of the century? Hold my beer.
dang and team, perhaps it makes sense to special-case .name domains in the domain hint, like you do for GitHub and Ex-Twitter.
Thanks!
Maybe if Martin could comment - his @google.com email still appears in the repo readme, I'm assuming he doesn't have access to that box anymore - was the repo move and ownership coordinated with Google prior to his leaving?
Wasn't it partially owned by Google? Or are they just a contributer now?
If I remember correctly, Mitchell Hashimoto uses it for Ghostty (probably under the git backend).
Then use that as the link.
Everything I can find online is referring to this one source. That doesn't tell me if it's happening or not.
"In full" is a tall order that no other OS or distro claims.
No reason Qt or quickshell is any different from any other software.
Bash is... harder, not impossible. I wouldn't rely on it.
This is not distinct.
Even in a big corp there are always problems to solve. The point is to find problems that both:
1) are hard enough that someone junior won't be able to solve them alone, and
2) actually provide value to the company / users
Should be (2020) per the URL.
That is, as TFA mentions, the one good argument.
