Re:`123456' password used in Danish CPR data breach on Saturday October 10, 2026 @06:49AM (#50031597)
You are presenting a false dilemma (probably unintentionally). While security can be at odds with usability, basic measures like password generation and management are a solved problem. In fact using password manager is more convenient than typing password manually, even 123456 :)

HDMI is a king on consumer TVs. Linux (in form of SteamOS) is becoming a major console gaming platform thanks to Valve.
Local control, maybe. But not the power.

Somewhat related, new version of Amiga Vision collection just dropped. Very high quality product you can get for free if you are an Amiga fan. Can't get enough of included demos on my MiSTer setup.
>LLM tech as it stands right now will turn into a commodity

I am yet to see in-depth analysis that supports this claim

There's X11libre for Linux and there's X on OpenBSD and FreeBSD. I am sure it will be fine.

Please replace CD with cd in the title, it's misleading.

I think so. I learned about it from a short announcement teaser on their YT channel.

Re:Rendering Crispy Text on the GPU on Friday June 13, 2025 @06:18AM (#44267231)
If you work with ASCII-only monospaced-only text, then yeah sure. It gets weird real quick outside of those boundaries.
Re:Using the Apple ][+ with the RetroTink-5X on Sunday May 25, 2025 @05:53AM (#44086733)
Not familiar with demoscene needs, but might A2DVI card be of help? It seems to support all standard video modes at least. Alternatively, there's also VidHD.
Re:A terms of use and updated privacy notice for Firefox on Thursday February 27, 2025 @04:45PM (#43198848)
I wonder if LibreWolf is of any help with those (and previous) changes. Would love to see LibreWolf maintainers chime in on this.
Re:Nvidia's RTX 5090 power connectors are melting on Tuesday February 11, 2025 @10:05AM (#43013576)
Derbauer and Buildzoid on YouTube made nice informative videos on subject, and no it is not "simply a user error". So glad I went with 7900 XTX - should be all set for a couple of years.
Re:TinyX: Small Featured X Server on Tuesday February 11, 2025 @08:54AM (#43012718)
If it is good enough for OpenBSD it is good enough for me.

I am sure you are aware Russian is spoken by many people who aren't ethnically Russian. This is to say that statements like this aren't just ignorant but repugnant and aren't helping your cause, assuming it's a good one.

Re:Terminal Latency on Monday March 18, 2024 @01:33AM (#39740740)
I think latency on its own is not as much of an issue as fluctuations of it (jitter) when it comes to human perception. At least myself is very susceptible to jitter so I appreciate post author's work documenting those stats, though jitter is not addressed directly.
Re:RoR Debugbar on Sunday February 18, 2024 @01:40PM (#39421727)

His linkedin page says he's in Zurich, Switzerland, so I correct myself
In Belarus where the author is from people don't have many options.
