They should be paid a livable wage before tips.
Re:OLED iPad Mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:07AM (#50243971)
Seriously, what’s the point if it doesn’t have ProMotion? 60hz feels so sluggish.
Re:Claude Haiku 5.5 on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @02:46PM (#49997114)
It's not really about whether the design looks good. It's about if the model can take the design given to it and replicate it in code. Opus 5.5 matches the designs almost to the pixel. Haiku built something else entirely.
These kinds of features absolutely come from the top. VP level, at the very least, if that's what you mean by incompetent managers. The middle managers are just trying to do their jobs and figure out how to get it done. If they say no, they're just going to lose their job faster than they'd lose it to AI.
Re:Google Workspace thinks my domain is an email provider on Sunday August 23, 2026 @09:21PM (#49414269)
All that leetcode, whiteboarding, and Googly-style interview questions just to put front-end validation for security.
Re:App Store Rejection of the Week: Dark Hours on Friday August 07, 2026 @05:55PM (#49216681)
They did.
Re:Karpathy's Pelican on Sunday August 02, 2026 @04:27PM (#49147987)
100%. Why waste the tokens to render Lord of the Rings when the pelican test still clearly benchmarks so well.
Believe it or not...calls.
They tried. Facebook Watch. It's a total disaster.
Re:A website that lists websites to submit your website to on Thursday June 18, 2026 @03:16PM (#48590141)
Very cool! FYI, DesignerNews is dead.
Re:Midjourney Medical on Thursday June 18, 2026 @01:10AM (#48581068)
They don’t recommend them overly frequently because it’s unnecessary, but it’s not harmful to mom or the baby in any way.
This is a bit of a sensationalist headline. MV3 ad blocking extensions like uBO Lite work fine for 99.9% of cases. MV3 certainly is a pain in the ass, but it's not the end of the world for ad blocking.
ADU's are extremely popular in California. Are you going to add support for designing ADU/garage conversions?
Re:Mmorpg World of ClaudeCraft, vibe coded with Fable 5 on Friday June 12, 2026 @06:21PM (#48510105)
This is so cool. Where did the free assets / character models come from?
Re:Railway Blocked by Google Cloud on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @12:43AM (#48203203)
I love pointing my name servers to Cloudflare so any DNS changes from that are practically instant.
There’s a completely free tier of Zohomail which does more than what I need for a custom email.

$1,000? They can't be serious?
Re:Show HN: An interactive map of Tolkien's Middle-earth on Tuesday April 07, 2026 @06:29PM (#47682170)
This is awesome! Can you make the zoom in and out smoother? I have to pinch every single time to get to the next zoom level instead of continuously zooming as I pinch.
Congrats on your launch! How is this different than Conductor?
Re:Founder of GitLab battles cancer by founding companies on Saturday March 28, 2026 @02:00PM (#47556887)
Really awesome that he was able to do this and give back, but none of this would have been possible without his unfathomable wealth and access.
Re:Arm AGI CPU on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @03:16PM (#47507676)
And the stock is down >2% today
Looks like this could be really cool, but it's a buggy mess. Can't switch top tabs, can't close tabs. Once I lose focus in a tab, I can't ever type again in that terminal tab. Can't switch between the different sidebar tabs, either.
Re:Show HN: Micasa – track your house from the terminal on Thursday February 19, 2026 @03:39PM (#47078926)
Very cool! When on docs column, and pressing e to edit, it seems to just take you to edit the entire project, with no way to edit docs (which I am not sure what that even is supposed to be, I assume a way to attach files?).
Is it compatible with OpenClaw Plugins?
I believe they also pull this off with a fleet of PS3s, at one point.
This is why I always back into parking spots. If I never have to back out, I'll never be at fault!
You can already do this.
"Claude Code, but usable" might not be the best tagline. I find Claude Code extremely usable. In fact, it's the simplest product that "just works" I've ever used.
