That's a pretty political statement Dale.
Like people being hang for climing labor rights or doors being closed leading to fires killing a lot of working women.

That kind of violence...

Re:GeoWombat: Utilities for Geospatial Data on Thursday September 22, 2022 @06:25PM (#32945426)
I'm doing machine learning over raster data and found this nice library with a lot of utility functions and a good looking workflow to integrate with sk-learn.

Didn't saw it poster before. Hope you like it.

PD: I'm in no way affiliated with the project.

The jargon file is trully an amazing relic. I love to get back to it from time to time. Your tools looks like an amazing overvamp for it! Great work!

Re:Npm Audit: broken by design? on Wednesday July 07, 2021 @10:48AM (#27761725)
Excellent rundown of many problems I've encountered in recent versions of npm and node.

I've never ever got `audit fix` or `audit fix --force` to solve any of the mentioned vulnerabilities. Ever. I even relied on downloading every dependency one by one to find that there where other offending packages. I just gave up.

It's really useless and deceptive.

Re:Software estimation is hard – do it anyway on Wednesday June 30, 2021 @01:28PM (#27691195)
Agile, is in practice, a way to have the dev team under more strict scrutiny than anyone else in the org. It doesn't happen anywhere else, mostly because other industries have a long standing unions and working rights instead of free "professionals" doing services.
I really see no problem with all the above.
And the format is in a some kind of revival. Some of the best content I get is from newsletters these days.

Well to be fair. If more population were concerned an actively participating in democracy, by at the least get out and go to vote, some thing would change, for sure.

USA has the lowest participation on any democracy I know.

Universal obligatory vote is something that does wonders and produce actual change.

At first I thought: there's no way someone is this categorical about some obscure aspect of python's internals, then I noticed it's from dabeaz. What a man :)
