Radical changes are ahead in terms of monetization on the internet.
Your design is very clear, I wish more websites were like this, thanks again!
Lovely website, thanks a million for making this!

Just a quick bug report: At https://musclewiki.com/Exercises/Male/Traps_middle/ when you want to go next page it directs you https://musclewiki.com/Exercises/Male/Traps%20(mid-back)/2 which causes 404. It should direct to https://musclewiki.com/Exercises/Male/Traps_middle/2 . I assume root cause of this is that you are getting next page link from title.

The main issue is providing enough lighting/energy rather than growth medium.

Everything is possible to grow with hydroponics although it is a little tricky.

Disclaimer: I've grown tomatoes, strawberries and weed indoors with artificial lighting.

As long as there is no shocking event like global drought or famine I do not think vertical farming or indoor farming will be a norm anytime soon as it takes massive, massive amount of energy/capital.

That being said, the moment we figure out using fusion energy, conventional farming will most probably vanish.

Also R&D on agriculture robots is a nice side perk, there is only so much to automate in agriculture & horticulture.

I did not realize how dependent I was to google/google services until 30 minutes ago.

Just 2 hours ago I tried Nvidia's Geforce Now on a high end PC with 50 Mbit internet (wifi). Terrible, terrible experience. There many things for them to figure out if they want my money.

Ikea järvfjället is a decent option.
Can someone from US explain how come there is still no open source alternative to TurboTax?

Ask HN: Why do I only see scam ads on Twitter

I have been seeing only and only promoted tweets which are clearly scams, impersonating banks we use in Turkey on Twitter. This is what is going on for 2 months and it came to a point where I feel like I am being targeted intentionally by those people. How do I get targeted this aggressively? Is this happening to you as well?Is there anything I can do rather than reporting 2-3 scams per day? I...

I was at the bottom of Africa last month with unstable internet connection barely faster than dial-up. HN was the only site I could connect before getting timeouts and bs.
Re:The Subway Is So Late, It’s Making New Yorkers Early on Monday April 09, 2018 @04:24AM (#16791295)
There are many advantages (and few disadvantages) riding, for me time spent on road was the killer and you can not imagine how much I recommend it.
Re:The Subway Is So Late, It’s Making New Yorkers Early on Monday April 09, 2018 @04:21AM (#16791280)
After I started riding motorcycle instead of public services or my car, time spent during transportation reduced almost %80. I live in Istanbul, when I leave work to go home (prime time) it takes up to 2 hours with car and 1.5 hour with public transportation to reach home. With my motorcycle it is around 25-35 minutes.
Re:California bullet train cost surges by $2.8B on Thursday January 18, 2018 @03:48AM (#16175638)
Never been to California, using motorcycle as main transportation is not a perfect solution there?

I'm well aware that is it impossible to please everyone but do new MBs really please anyone?
Re:RIP Turkey, 1921 – 2017 on Monday April 17, 2017 @11:08AM (#14131415)
In theory they can. In practice, impossible. Its the culture. We do not vote for representative, we vote for a party and its leader.
Re:RIP Turkey, 1921 – 2017 on Monday April 17, 2017 @10:56AM (#14131286)
Turk here. There will be 13 high level judiciary members, 4 of whom will be appointed by president (Erdogan) and rest by majority of assembly (Erdogan's Party). So forget about independency. They are not even independent at the moment anyways.
Re:Regional Security Office Ghana Shuts Down Fake US Embassy on Saturday December 03, 2016 @10:07PM (#13098602)
As a Turk I always knew that our criminals were good at creating fake stuff. But faking an EMBASSY for TEN YEARS? This is something beyond being good at something.
Think about this; Apple and Google -biggest tech companies in the whole world- has teams of remarkable people creating Siri etc. And it is still not enough, so they buy many startups related to those subjects aaand we have what we call Siri.
I was one of those who wanted to build their own Jarvis. If you want it to do certain -pre-defined- tasks like opening Facebook or a website etc., it is not that hard. However, if you want to create something like Siri, you need to use almost everything humanity has in terms of AI/ML until today.
Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @01:06PM (#11423487)
Yeah, this is the worst case. If you google "Ali İsmail Korkmaz" you'll see a young protester, beaten to death by police and regime supporter bakery guy. He was classmate of my gf and he probably was the nicest person you can ever met.
Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @01:01PM (#11423439)
It is actually a grey area since the start. Today they get a zerox copy of your entire ID card which includes Identity Number as well but they should not do that.

The terrorist example I gave came from this grey area in fact. IIRC 2 years ago it was in the news that terrorists open up new SIM cards with regular citizens' information. When I checked it with my info, there was only 1 registered which was mine, when I checked my father however, had 4 SIMs registered and only 2 of them were his.

Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @11:28AM (#11422616)
Officials would tell her to use both or she'd have to go to European Court of Human Rights to have that simple right. A woman attorney did go ECHR iirc
Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @11:04AM (#11422396)
I learned this leak through HN not TR media. Forget about front page, it is NOT even mentioned.

It is only mentioned by social media website @DikenComTr who are heavy-opposition to AKP regime -related with a NL journalist Frederike Geerdink, just because you are NL I wanted to mention-. Diken journalists love to spend some time in custody time to time and website gets shut down every once in a while.

Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @10:47AM (#11422258)
To give a little more context, if you are TR citizen what information you use and should keep private is: 1)Identity Number 2)Your mother's pre-marital surname.
Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @10:42AM (#11422223)
Name and maybe address can be found somehow but identity number absolutely can not be found (should not be from now on). Private companies confirm auth with name, surname, X,Y,Zth number of identity number.

You have to provide them name, surname and identity number in order to get a SIM card, in this example.

You don't need to be convicted for anything anymore if someone wants you to go to jail :) They get you in and start writing bill of indictment(?).

Re:Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked on Monday April 04, 2016 @10:30AM (#11422122)
TR citizen here, for the last 10 years only those who are really close to AKP got the government contracts including software like this etc. for stupid amounts of money with no know-how. Therefore this is absolutely normal -at least for us-, only thing that surprised me about this leak is this got into front page of HN.

Those software "companies" take millions of liras, usually for stupid CRUD stuff, develop it in like years and result is goddamn vulnerable, unaesthetic pieces of garbage.

I'm on that list as well. With that info, a terrorist can buy a SIM card for my name, use it to proxy-blow up a goddamn bomb aaaaand I'm in jail.

Re:Facebook is ruining Instagram on Friday April 01, 2016 @01:38PM (#11406776)
This type of stuff makes me wonder when humanity will treat ads just like we treat cigarettes today.
What a time to be alive
