Why did this post get dropped from the homepage?

What kind of specs would you need on a local machine to be able to run fairly decent (Opus 5.5-level) models on it?

OP here:
A couple of weeks ago I shared my web game "Hole Punch" with you, in which you sling a spaceship around gravitational fields: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49946393
It was much more successful than I'd imagined, staying on the homepage for a couple of days. Friends & family messaged to tell me they'd seen it and how addictive they found playing it.
I've since ported the game to iOS, where I've been able to develop the mobile interactions a bit better. It has more free levels (and another 35 behind a £4 paywall). It's my first iOS game so please go easy on me.
I really hope you enjoy playing it as much as you did the web version!

I agree - the mobile sucks. I've made a couple of usability tweaks for now, but hope to have more time to spend on it in the week

The "no fuel" mechanic is very challenging. If you click on the "sector" button at top left and then click "I give up" the computer will show you the solution. It's all about making gates with two holes and then steering by adding mass to one

I do apologise. I'm trying to replicate the mobile issues, though I don't have one to hand right now. I've just pushed up some changes that attempt to make touch interactivity a little better and I added full screen support

Thanks! I like the keyboard experience (space for start/stop), arrows to add/subtract mass. Maybe I will add tabbing

I just pushed an update. Click on the hole and controls will appear. I think you'll enjoy the later levels (10+)

I can foresee my team using this for documenting our local tooling. I’m wondering also if it could store a login token to make authenticated requests with, to create sales handovers from.

I'm really struggling to see how to make architectural decisions with an agent. It's great when you're at a total loss for ideas, but when you already have some of the pieces it ultimately wants to drive all of the thinking and takes over. Then it just feels like you're deferring your experienced judgement. I've seen colleagues lose the ability to reason any more without asking the agent to do it for them, because they inherently don't see the point if the agent is going to end up doing the whole piece (and probably auditing/overruling anything they came up with on their own).

The example video just looks like the highly produced art (TV, commercials, games) other people have created. I find it impossible to believe this wasn't trained on other people's work, and there is no protection for it. Terribly sad. A lack of original thinking is coming.
