This album got me into music!
Looks cool. Excited to try it out. Having an issue with Google Sign-in on the Android app.
Very cool!
Love this! Would be amazing as a Chrome Extension for web pages.

Elixir is on top of my list.
Elixir + Vue
I've always wanted to do the same thing for my e-mails!
Re:Ask HN: How can we make React better? on Tuesday October 09, 2018 @01:13AM (#18173485)
I recognize that it's a very different philosophy, but first-class support for interpolated HTML made porting existing applications very easy in Vue.

I do love Vue's single file components for small components. It's a big productivity boost to be able to reason about the different facets of a component together.
Great choice.

Wow, I stand corrected. Question still stands, is anything safe?
Re:Toys ‘R’ Us Didn’t Have to Die on Monday June 11, 2018 @05:29AM (#17282937)
Begs the question, what kinds of local businesses are structurally safe from being disrupted by Amazon? Some that come to mind:

* Food - restaurants, fast food, pizza, takeout

* Social experiences - bars, cafes, arcades, comedy clubs

* Things that can't be shipped - gas stations, perishables

* Things you want right away - milk, delis, convenience stores

* Things that can't be commoditized - Copying keys

* Services - Barber shops, mechanics

Other ideas?

Re:Faulty Logic: Debating won’t bring us closer to truth on Wednesday May 16, 2018 @02:36PM (#17085159)
To be fair, neither the left nor the right are persevering in debate these days. For every X-"ism" claim from the left, there's an equivalent "fake news" gaslighting attempt from the right. The degeneration of politics today comes from both extremes of the political spectrum.

Behind every logical argument is a vehement emotional one. Debates rarely change minds because they rarely address the real underlying anchors.

C
Major difference though is that we as individuals gave Facebook permission, and most of us would still knowingly make a "limited tracking in exchange for tangible personal utility" trade.

We as individuals never gave the NSA permission to track us, and most of us would never knowingly make the "unlimited tracking in exchange for nebulous collective utility" trade.

Just the metadata... wink wink
Answer: No thanks.

Re:Why Is Productivity So Weak? Three Theories on Friday April 29, 2016 @01:02AM (#11593850)
Possibly because it's a lot easier today to generate income without "producing" or creating new value.

"Sayer argues that the past four decades have been characterised by a transfer of wealth not only from the poor to the rich, but within the ranks of the wealthy: from those who make their money by producing new goods or services to those who make their money by controlling existing assets and harvesting rent, interest or capital gains. Earned income has been supplanted by unearned income."

It's back.
You could talk to the founder today and say you'd like to say a proper goodbye to your team before you leave. Ask what's the best way to do that in his mind.
