Show HN: Fakekey – never expose real API keys in the agent environment

https://github.com/happyvibing/fakekey

With the widespread adoption of AI Agents, configuring various service API Tokens directly in environment variables has become common practice. Your api_key will be inserted into context and known by model service providers, known by the lobsters you trust, perhaps captured and read by some skill, and even more likely to be directly learned by strangers asking your lobster. There are too many...

In current AI Agent development, we are used to feeding context to Agents using Skills, Tools, MCP, or Prompts.

As agent tools continue to evolve, the initial hype around MCP has cooled down. While it standardizes how APIs are called, it also makes things more complex. It requires clients that support its protocol, and the server needs a matching protocol implementation. If it's just wrapping a bunch of API endpoints, why not just write code to call those APIs directly? Skill is a better alternative for this. More importantly, it provides instruction manuals that models can easily understand....

Show HN: AgentShield, The missing safety layer for Cowork and AI Agents

https://github.com/tomsun28/agentshield

Hey, I'm Gong Chao, currently working at Zai.Last weekend after playing football and heading home, an idea suddenly popped into my head. I got the urge to build it and spent the whole weekend hacking it out — *AgentShield* .Nowadays everyone's using Cowork, Claude Code, or various AI agents to manipulate files and write code. It's awesome, but sometimes AI goes "crazy" and messes up your files,...

Hi,

This is an open-source project that I have been developing full-time for over two years.

Name HertzBeat, in terms of functionality, it is similar to Prometheus and Zabbix.

Recently, the project has just entered the Apache Foundation Incubator.

Here, I want to share it with HN readers.

In a word, it is an easy-to-use, open source, real-time monitoring system with agentless, high performance cluster, prometheus-compatible, offers powerful custom monitoring and status page building capabilities.

I hope this product is helpful and any feedback (even negative) would bring me joy.
