Tangentially related: I'm about to turn 65 and would be punished if I continued to pay for my own healthcare. My Obamacare/ACA insurance here in the state of Washington costs me $70K/year with premiums, deductibles, meds, etc. That's just for me and my wife.
And you know what? It's totally worth it to me. This year I had 4 operations+10 ER visits and my wife had 3 brain surgeries+radiation and 2 ER visits. About $2 million worth of treatments, quite good care overall. So I'm willing to continue paying for private insurance. I am fortunate I can pay for it and would like not to make you good folks pay for it.
But Medicare won't let me without penalizing me permanently more an additional 10% for every year I don't go on Medicare. Luckily Washington has phenomenal Medicare. But it would be nice if I weren't punished for trying not to be a burden to the dwindling population of taxpayers.
I believe GP is making the point that tokens are expensive atm so we are better at conserving them (the scroll back part), but soon it'll be so inexpensive or even free that we won't bother.
Which means that Stallman is, what, in his early 70s? Which means that I'm... uh-oh...
> Lula was allowed to do every "electoral crime" they barred Bolsonaro from doing in 2022. They even extended voting time, a move that directly benefiting him, and also ruled illegal back in 2022.
Your cavalier anti plank control attitude is what’s wrong with Americans
Brilliant! I'd get the pay per view just to see the judge's face when you made this proposal. Also you have balls of steel.

Tangentially, ravens sound like humans doing a bad imitation of ravens
Great idea! I don't understand this heartfelt statement:
I took notes by hand (fuck feeding the machine) and spent several hours being told what incorrect assumptions I'd made
What does it refer to?
They use this framework:
https://learnbchs.orgTheir example is:
#include <err.h> /* err(3) */
#include <stdlib.h> /* EXIT_xxxx */
#include <stdio.h> /* puts(3) */
#include <unistd.h> /* pledge(2) */
int main(void)
{
if (pledge("stdio", NULL) == -1)
err(EXIT_FAILURE, "pledge");
puts("Status: 200 OK\r");
puts("Content-Type: text/html\r");
puts("\r");
puts("Hello, world!\n");
return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}
That really sucks. My heart goes out to you.
That's exactly what I do. I'm fortunate enough to use the latest preview version, which is known to us beta testers as Notepad With Microsoft Copilot™ and only uses up about 2% of my phone data for telemetry per day (Preview 1.0.912 actually used over 14% daily lol). Plus they got working set size down to 11 gigs and disk usage down to 36.3 gigs.
Thus began the legend of Leatherface
Can’t grow them here in Seattle. Keep trying and failing.

The home page for Foxscript is perfect IMHO. Loads fast, well written, easy to understand, looks great.
wouldn't you like to know
> You could Google this and find a thousand articles about it.
Such articles are frequently by the people who would benefit the most from them and usually lack specifics. My favorite version of this is to do a web search for "fastest growing hobby in the world". Lots of hobbies are the fastest growing hobby in the world, it turns out.
I would be insulted. My wife is a Grey. She permanently morphed out of reptilian form 222 years ago.
I'm a sniper so this feature is mission-critical to me
At last, the final piece of my retirement portfolio drops neatly into place
Those posters all look pretty damn good to me. Thanks for that page. Super helpful for me and I need that right now.

I’m beginning to conclude that about 47% of all ancient activities in England consisted solely of either moving comically huge rocks around, or attempting to convince the remaining 53% to do their fair share.
I am sick of underachieving beavers. Go us! Seriously, that would require statutory change here in Washington state. I live in a rural area with salmon waterways all over. Farmers just quietly clear the way for them, because it's illegal to make any changes to the waterway even if it's trash thrown out of cars.
You handled GP's post much better than I would have.
