But the ironic thing is that private insurance also works through "freeloading": you pay your premiums so that somebody else in the insurance pool can get treatment. It's just that some people prefer their intermediary be a private company which will also skim profits off top than their government.

I'm confused. You're saying they haven't incorporated basic physics into their model? How come? They don't have any geophysicists on staff?

That's why I append reddit, stackoverflow, superuser when I search for technical solutions. At least those sites are still full of user-generated content with good answers upvoted to the top.

Ask HN: Looking for a Twitter thread about UIs getting worse

There was a twitter thread a couple of years back (not sure, 2019 or 2020?) on how UIs are getting worse and CLIs were very good compared to GUIs. I think one of the examples was entering data in an old CLI application. I remember it also had a big discussion on HN. Does anyone have a link? I'm going mad trying to find it.

One has to note that he also made homophobic comments (available at https://archive.is/dp0n7):

If I were to pretend to be gay, that isn’t something that I can just wash off and tell those who know me and saw me, that I was just pretending, it was just an experiment. Sure you’re not a homosexual. Having had that thought, I realized that within my inner emotional core, not only do I not agree with homosexuality, I still despise it in a way that I would not want there to be any connection between my personal character and it.
Given that such comments resurfaced during the Pride Month, I'm surprised he hasn't been fired.
This is exactly what I'm getting from twitter. My feed are the latest updates shared by the people I follow. I don't see clickbait, I don't see outrage, I have a curated feed aligned with my interests. It's true that about once in a couple of months Twitter decides to switch the order of tweets from the latest to the most recommended, but that's easily fixed in two clicks. The moment twitter removes the option to see the feed in chronological order is the moment I delete twitter.

And then he launched the nukes.

I've tried to get into CK three times and I just don't get it. I love all the other paradox games (well, except stellaris, scifi setting is not my cup of tea). I love EU4 because it's a strategy game, where I can replay history and explore alternative paths. But with CK2 and CK3 now it's just not clicking for me. Why should I care about my in-game brother's wife's fictional son?
