Re:Crystal 1.22.0 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @03:08PM (#50199683)
I used Crystal for a year before moving on to Go, which I value for its faster build times. Bun also keeps improving at fast pace and constantly reduce memory usage which can be useful on budget server.
It’s worth S$0.02 for 15-min read.
Probably, you have not yet optimised with Mole or other tools, that would have re-gain back some performance.

Interesting, this reduced memory usage in my test down from 14 MB to 12 MB, and Bun (Rust) is still at 7.2 MB, down from 10 MB with Bun (Zig).
Wouldn't the HTML Popover API be a simpler fit for the sidebar example? If it's an overlay rather than part of the document layout, popover seems to eliminate quite a bit of the positioning logic.
Re:The coolest use for the Vision Pro on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @05:45PM (#49103476)
It is even great for those with night blindness navigating in a large space. I wish there were night vision glasses.
A good night's sleep is no longer an option for me. My area is experiencing widespread, constant ground vibrations throughout the day and night. It feels as if your whole body is vibrating. No supplement can help with that, and there's nothing the local authorities can do until the major construction projects are completed over the next few years.

We should let players choose their own timer from default to # minutes or no rewards for correct answers.
Re:Podman v6.0.0 on Thursday July 02, 2026 @03:55PM (#48766523)
One advantage of Docker is reliable host-to-container file change notifications, allowing tools like Vite inside the container to detect changes. Podman and many alternatives don’t handle this well for our web development on macOS.

Not even Tart or Apple Container support it, as far as I know. Maybe someone has found a way.

I'm saying the version from 0.17.0 -> 1.0.

While other projects, such as Astro Starlight for documentation and Hugo CMS, have not yet reached 1.0.

Why did your release jump from 0.17.0 (2026-06-08) to 1.0 in such a short time?

If I use Tailwind, BEM or Boostrap, how hard it will be to customise? Flowbite have a few pre-made UI.

Shoelace UI is based on Web Components, now that it got bigger:

Same too, now it's my haze and night blindness vision.

Doom 3, smoother on Macbook M1 but it's too dark that I need to actually increase brightness on Firefox reliably. Is there a better solutions?

Re:VoidZero Is Joining Cloudflare on Thursday June 04, 2026 @12:40PM (#48401148)
Cloudflare acquiring Astro and VoidZero was unexpected. I’ve been using Astro for a solo project, which made things easier to manage.

It also came at a time when expectations for the project were starting to increase.

Re:The Website Specification on Sunday May 31, 2026 @06:07AM (#48344429)
Some good parts, some bad practices, and a few missing pieces. I spent a lot of time auditing websites and brought all issues down to zero.

Many web and SEO agencies have let technical debt build up over the years. I raised some issues to them, but didn’t hear back.

After auditing a million websites, can we fix them? We could rebuild the web.

Feeling like no longer personal but AI laptop.
Re:Your Website Is Not for You on Saturday May 02, 2026 @12:43AM (#47983386)
Actually, I can see why this blogs and the agency was created after reading their FAQs (preferred Astro and Next.js). But note that, there are multiple WebSmith site which can caught new clients to be confused.
Just curious if this allow to sync file changes from host to vm which only Docker has that and no other VM alternative has that ability.
How many smolvm can you find?
Re:Darkbloom – Private inference on idle Macs on Thursday April 16, 2026 @01:05AM (#47788843)
OpenAI has only about 5% paying customers, how does it generate revenue?

I don’t think this is a sustainable business model. For example, Cubbit tried to build decentralised storage, but I backed out because better alternatives now exist, and hardware continues to improve and become cheaper over time.

Your electricity and ownership are going to get lower return and does not actually requce CO2.

Here what Matt said: "The closest thing I’ve seen to a spiritual successor isn’t another CMS, it’s been OpenClaw.”

He's saying "the spiritual successor to WordPress won't be a CMS at all, it'll be something in a different category entirely. Or he lets his emotion get better of him.

Correct, "categorical descendant" is actually more precise given how differently they were built.
So it's spiritual successor, not successor.
