I can't reproduce it.

Does the error still occur if you do a hard reload or use a different browser?

Re:Australia proposes ban on social media for those under 16 on Thursday November 07, 2024 @01:54AM (#42074177)
While I dislike social media, this ban is as stupid as Australia's laws enforcing bicycle helmets. Will this mean I will have to register as my real name on Hacker News? Not a chance
>Obviously we also have tracking numbers to prove that literally every succeeded payment from account 1 have received their products, and we have submitted this to Stripe as well.

So does this mean that any of your customers complained that they have not received what they paid for?

Maybe they just got the numbers from a fortune cookie?
Re:Google will not let me pay an invoice they sent me on Wednesday June 08, 2022 @04:07AM (#31664601)
It will end up in the too hard basket and get deleted. Don't worry about it.

No credit agency will touch a $1.16 bill

It certainly drove the sale of airpods according to some analysts. The number is probably higher
Re:NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Price List on Sunday January 03, 2021 @10:38AM (#25622326)
These prices are fairy tales. It's a figure next to no one will actually ever pay. Insurers pay less. If you ask for a discount you will pay less.

Putting in orange lights costs auto makers money. Please think of the poor auto companies.

Saving lives is less important than a companies bottom line.

Being price gouged by airlines is nothing new, this is business as usual.
Re:What Is Glitter? on Saturday December 22, 2018 @09:18PM (#18743982)
It is allegedly mixed with bleach and used by the coal industry to make the smoke look white. People don't like seeing black smoke.

The New York City marathon goes thought the Bronx.

Most of the runners hate it, there are not many trees, not many people come out to cheer runners on.

There is not a single bookshop in the Bronx.

Re:Spectrum internet is getting kicked out of New York on Friday July 27, 2018 @04:42PM (#17629187)
I live in New York and the only provider is spectrum. Yesterday I (and all my neighbors) got a letter from Optimum, offering better prices and higher bandwidth. After calling Optimum I got told that Optimum doesn't service my area.

Is this a new type of turf war?

10 year leases are mostly made by big companies with deep pockets, which puts the value of the property up.

The earnings on developer tools have never been huge but the revenue on Windows server has been huge. The market is shifting from buying windows server to azure. By having an editor that works seamlessly with Microsoft's azure options it cements Microsoft as a long term player in the hosting market.

Microsoft also spends a lot of resources on documentation which makes it an easy choice for the frustrated developer who can't get something working on another companies offering.

Re:The farmer who built her own broadband on Monday December 26, 2016 @01:46PM (#13259270)
Corrupt? They all follow the law.

The problem may be the way the laws get enacted. What might be considered very corrupt in one country is just how business is done in the USA.

What next? Vilify the lobbyists?
Yes. But with pressure and chemicals they can pretty well be cleaned.

In much the same way they (or in some cases don't) clean the lines at your local bar.

Re:Why Fruits and Veggies Are So Cheap in Chinatown on Sunday June 26, 2016 @01:23PM (#11981640)
The volume of retail produce passing through Chinatown (NYC) is by far the largest in the city. Profits are made by volume not by large mark ups.

Free market has its advantages.

It very well could, the UK has some very interesting laws. Just imagine if he had used the word 'bomb'.

American companies are all for free trade when it suits them.
Re:Safety Check for Brussels on Tuesday March 22, 2016 @10:25AM (#11336806)
Rational platform? Selective outrage?

Glenn Greenwald (The guy who broke the Snowden story) sums it up quite nicely. https://theintercept.com/2016/03/08/nobody-knows-the-identit...

Re:More Money Really Does Make Schools Better on Sunday March 06, 2016 @11:52AM (#11234410)
Something like this has been tried before. It results in the students being institutionalized and prepared for prison.

Maybe lifting the people of the urban ghettos out of the poverty trap might be a good start.
