I have seen and read from @dang often throughout my many years of journey with HN, but never got to know who really is @dang.

Is their true identity a secret? If not, can someone please point me out to their real name. I am just curious about their profile and would like to have a look at their LinkedIn or Twitter if they are on there.

I do not wish to pry open anyone's anonymity and so if their identity is a secret, I am fine with that. I honestly just want to have a look at their journey which sometimes LinkedIn / Twitter / GitHub / individual blogs provide.

I am old! "Axa" is seriously everything that is wrong with the way newer generations are using the language with English alphabets! I still cannot believe people do this.

I have personally set a standard or a set of rules for writing Hindi using English alphabets myself and I have seen my friends follow the same. We do not use such shortcuts/shortforms.

Hell, even "Acha" is not the correct way. It must be "Achha" (double Hs).

Speak Hindi all day, but cannot guess a single letter in a 100 tries!

Shows how much this language's usage in writing and reading has declined.

E-mailed you regarding Flask, FastAPI and Django.
Loved the concept, but there's too much white-space, lot's of screen real-estate lost.

On my MacBook Pro 16-inches, I can see 12 stories on HS while on HN, I can see 27 at one go.

I am not saying the UI needs to be as dense as it is on `news.ycombinator.com` but it can be much more denser than what it is right now.

Also, +1 for dark mode, although, DarkReader works quite well for now!

Ask HN: How does one build a jobs board?

I am not particularly looking into building one myself, but I have been brainstorming about how one would approach this problem.Where does one get all jobs data from? I am aware that there are APIs out there from where I can get data from, but that means I am basically building a front-end for data off some other platform(s).Is getting data from recruiters the only way? How would one get the...

The only editor I find on the Windows servers we have at work is npp and the white theme made it very difficult for me to work. I am gonna grab a portable copy of this and take with me on any server now!

Something seems off, am getting a "403 - Forbidden" while visiting the page.

Anybody else get it too or am I the only one?

This is while on Firefox Developer Edition on a Windows 10 PC.

* BMC Remedy (Oh my god. Utterly disgusting experience.)

* Atlassian JIRA (never really got the hang of it. Overcomplicated.)

* Workday (the web app is sloooooow.)

* MRemoteNG (The best SSH client on Windows. Also the worst. Alt + Tab navigation annoys me to hell!)

* iTunes on Windows (Why is it like the way it is even in 2020!?)

Isn’t that the best customer service!?

Just made the lockdowns and quarantines super interesting! Thank you @_Microft and NASA!

How much do you spend on the remote server on a monthly basis? Also, what's the hardware you use for the home server?
Ah, I see. I will get UBO, right away.

Thank you for helping out!

How would i go about using it with a Pi-Hole? Do I just add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bcye/Hello-Goodbye/master/... to the list of block lists? I don't see a redirect IP on your filter list (something like 0.0.0.0). Do I have to manually edit it?

Thank you!

BBOS 7 and 10.

I just want a BlackBerry Passport with modern internals and a business and developer friendly OS.

I can't stop fantasizing about a BlackBerry Passport with Pure OS / Postmarket OS and all the modern hardware specifications. That would make for an awesome portable developer computer.

Re:UBlock Origin 1.17.4 released on Monday December 03, 2018 @03:18AM (#18587184)
What does your workflow look like in terms of Firefox? What all sites do you visit where UBO doesn't mess it up too much to not have any work done?

Just curious. I am on a similar boat but sometimes find some sites to be unreadable after having UBO and some other privacy adjustments through about:config.

Thanks!
