Bitcoin-stealing malware account on the move

A year ago this guy/gal lost ~20btc to malware: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1xf2qj/my_wallet_just_emptied_into_this_address/well the address that swiped it appears to have just made a move: https://blockchain.info/tx/2a123981219824178426c880d6368165955d6310c7cd68f8550f813ccaa623b8Sorry to the original owner, I don't mean to reopen old wounds, but perhaps there's some identifiable...

More likely the common phrase, "you don't know jack shit".

Be first to know when the FBI move their bitcoin stash

I wanted transaction alerts on my wallet addresses without having to import the private keys to a web wallet service, so I made this: https://wallethq.com/ - the main idea was to get peace of mind my cold storage hadn't been hacked, rather than compulsively checking it every night. But with all the speculation about what will happen to bitcoin values when the FBI offload 144K BTC from...

Guess it's a case of not being ready to execute on the idea yet? If so, not sharing until you're ready to start executing would be your best option.

Why does the perspective of the drawing grid appear to get wider as it gets further away?

edit, to answer my own question: it doesn't get wider, it just doesn't shrink into the distance either. It still feels odd not having perspective.

For whatever e-petitions might be worth, here exists a "Teach our kids to code" petition http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/15081, started by Emma Mulqueeny (http://mulqueeny.wordpress.com/2011/09/15/teach-our-kids-to-...)

Ok, this is what I also assumed - although I would never rely upon this as part of my continuous deployment process, I guess it does little harm to still monitor and be aware of such things...

As a developer using Visual Studio in my day job for the past six years, I simply cannot get a hold of Eclipse. I have tried repeatedly, and failed because it is so very clunky, slow, and unintuitive. Have recently been playing with IntelliJ, and think I will stick with this for the time being.

However, of course, Visual Studio with Resharper has just spoilt me rotten, can't expect that environment from every IDE.

Re:Show HN: Weekend Project - Create Simple Android mockup on Monday August 01, 2011 @06:44AM (#2831489)
Hmm, I find the double-click-to-delete feature unintuitive, and too easy to delete elements accidentally. I was clicking some text to edit it, and ended up deleting it by mistake.

Otherwise, great tool!

Re:Own Your Identity on Tuesday July 12, 2011 @06:13AM (#2754185)
Hotmail, despite improvements, is still terrible.

There are three (or 4) areas of action links on the page, to ensure that I never remember where the print button or Reply all button is.

It regularly junks emails from lists I'm subscribed to, apparently hitting "not junk" is not enough to mark it safe for next time?

The login page has a session that can expire - if I haven't logged in within five minutes of opening the login page, I get thrown backwards again for session expiration. Sometimes I consider not bothering attempting to re-log in.

Perhaps I've just been spoilt by Gmail.

Re:You have exactly three passwords, don't you? on Wednesday June 08, 2011 @04:29AM (#2632425)
I employ a similar tactic, and I can't recall ever one single site that I use changing its name. If it happened, I would then just change the password to reflect the name change, but it would be so infrequent that I'm not worried about it.
Re:Inspired by XKCD:903, Wikipedia steps to philosophy on Thursday May 26, 2011 @09:14AM (#2587589)
Last time I downloaded Wikipedia, it was 4.5GB. If I were to knock up this hack, I would definitely scrape pages instead.
Further to other replies, I also find that the mental shift between languages is always a gear change that slows down development. Especially shifting to your SQL brain.
Re:Dear Internet: Take the reset buttons off your damn forms on Wednesday April 13, 2011 @09:29AM (#2442084)
The expected behaviour is that navigating away will not submit the data. That's pretty much consistent across all interfaces I know, with the exception of saving as draft, which still does not "submit" the data to the human recipient on the other end.

However, I do agree that clearing the message can have its uses, but as it's a secondary action, it deserves a far less prominent position for the button (e.g. maybe as an option on the long-touch menu, but at least not where you'd expect the Send button to be). On this app, it's in the primary action space and doesn't ask confirmation before wiping your message.

Re:Dear Internet: Take the reset buttons off your damn forms on Wednesday April 13, 2011 @07:43AM (#2441666)
In Messaging on the Facebook app on Android, you have Send on the left and Clear on the right. Gets me far too often, and it's just not even necessary. If I don't want to send what I started writing, I simply hit back. Hate it.
Re:Firefox Add-ons with the Slowest Start-up on Wednesday April 06, 2011 @06:17AM (#2414531)
Regardless of Add-on start-up speed, I found annoyance with Firefox itself. Occasionally on launch, I would be asked whether I wanted to install or skip updates to my Add-ons.

I found this process of having to choose to install or skip to be too much of a distraction, killing my flow when I was "in the zone" and wanted to look something up fast.

For this reason I stopped using Firefox and have been happy with Chrome ever since.

Agreed. His videos are also entertaining to watch (particularly both videos on things learnt from the jQuery source).

I love NewsRob app on my android, it syncs with my Google Reader for offline use.
Shame - I've been to two of these HN meetups, and last night I met a lot of people working on interesting ideas. Most of these ideas were actually projects that are too early to call a startup but could possibly have potential.

Maybe I got lucky and chatted to the right guys.

I did. It seemed to me he was trying to emulate Jon Skeet's Stack Overflow reputation (ref: http://scobleizer.com/2011/01/02/crack-for-technical-recruit... ) but looks like he misjudged his effort.
