Steve Jobs would have loved this story.
Apple should absolutely acquire anthropic.
They’ll need to switch to NFC eventually.

Can someone explain why this is cool and what it’s used for?
Nerd Helmet? Ouch.
Mark cannot be trusted.

What a loser
At a minimum, you shouldn’t have to call or write a letter to cancel something you bought with a click.
Everyone’s rock bottom is relative. And however low you are now, it can get lower. Break up with your therapist and get a new one if it’s not helping, but you need to want it to work. Stop drinking alcohol for now, it’ll just make everything feel worse.
Elon is that desperate for cash?
Did they try unplugging it and plugging it back in?

Would be nice to have a link to an example.
Computers! Perhaps influenced by the frustrations of the engineers that built Google search?
Is there any way to find out the motivation behind this? And who is responsible for this part of the legislation?

I’m so tired of Facebook’s irresponsible behavior. I sold my FB stock even though I still believe it’ll go up, I just can’t participate in their bullshit.

Re:Performance Impact of Ad Blockers (2020) on Sunday February 07, 2021 @11:11AM (#26055924)
No mention of content blockers that stop ad network requests from even going out in the first place... I was under the impression that content blockers could even speed up page loads.
This is actually an interesting idea... We could power Bitcoin mining with solar energy, and then generate thermoelectric power with the heat it generates.

Re:My Experience at Apple on Friday January 01, 2021 @04:45PM (#25607510)
I won’t reply using my real accounts on HN or Medium for fear of retaliation by Apple... I think it’s still valuable and entirely understandable.
Re:My Experience at Apple on Friday January 01, 2021 @04:42PM (#25607482)
This rings so true! I interviewed for a few different teams at Apple and got an offer from one (they make you choose a team before you get an offer). There were echos of nepotism, scapegoating, and toxic treatment even during the interview process. Based on the answers I got during the “ask us some questions” portion at the end of each interview, it seemed like a very political and tense environment for a few of the interviewers. Thank you for sharing, this validated that I made the right choice. I’m sorry you had to go through this.
