I just saw a talk that he gave, and during minute 40:52, he goes on a rant to say that input methods on Linux drive him crazy because they are made by different people and are nothing like macOS (therefore not as consistent).I have seen this person complain several times like this about Linux, just to claim macOS is superior in some ways. It's not the year of the Linux desktop just because your billionaire buddy is using it. If anything, it's been the year of the Linux desktop for many of us for years, you're all late to the party.

Those can be emulated with the likes of SELinux, sockets, and bind mounts. It will take a lot of effort and some adaptation, but it could be done.

If they're going this way, why not just replace the macOS kernel (XNU) with Linux? They'll get so much more.

Well-known developer Enrico Weigelt just forked the X server from freedesktop.org after getting the boot [0].
