So yes, it could be this was all just a co-incidence but the precise timing of it all should give everyone pause. I did Google for similar stories and I did find one person with a similar story who was immediately dismissed because no one ever heard of such a thing. I do wonder how many people restrain from reporting such effects since the counter-argument is to provide casual evidence or get a doctor to confirm which is often not possible.
For sure there is a gross disparity in tolerance these days and you should avoid sharing hits of THC with anyone if your tolerance is low. They'll be fine, you on the other hand may have an experience you weren't expecting.
There is no technology that makes alcohol 100X stronger for todays teen than what it has been historically. But that's not true for THC products. On a personal note, I lost my hearing in one ear immediately after trying a strong MJ product. I just assumed it was congestion at the time but 10 months later I still have 70% hearing loss. I don't share this story with anyone because speaking ill of THC is heresy these days and a sure way to get downvoted.
Typically VAT tax is unpopular because it is regressive. But the UBI more than compensates for the extra tax burden.
The typically discussed classes in the US are lower, middle, upper which I always took to be one std below the mean income (lower) and one std above mean income (upper). Perhaps if we used mean days until $0 dollars in the bank if you stopped working it would be more useful.
Does a truck have any such requirements for pedestrian safety ? Is the highest part of the Cyber truck's front end any lower than a F-150 for example ? That could make for a safer design.
In all honesty, when I was young buying street drugs was appealing for the hustle, risk, excitement, and mischief. Often I'd simply resell it for double the thrill. Perhaps with that element gone it might actually be less appealing for some.
If we owe future generations anything it is 1) a sustainable environment and 2) a sustainable balance sheet. We may leave them neither.
Except for unusual circumstances, waiting until the last day on a legal matter is unprofessional. I feel like I am misunderstanding this post.
I defy you to find 1 chicken in 1000 that is capable of suffering this at this level.
If you asked pre-teen me how I would deal with a grown man determined to abuse me, I would have talked tough. But when that time came, I froze like a rabbit in the presence of a coiled python. Over the course of my life when other victims shared their story with me, I am always reminded how shockingly easy it is to abuse a child. For the record, one of them ended the abuse when she gathered the strength to simply whimper the word "no".
For all the confused commenters that wonder why we have this cameras-everywhere trend, it is because there are a multitude of adults like me with their secret abuse stories. There just doesn't seem to be competing ideas on how to prevent child abuse.
At the very least if you are a dad, tell your child this, "if an adult harms you, I know it will be difficult but you must tell me. I'll probably get angry at first but I promise I'll calm down and I won't do anything rash, etc.". I just assumed my dad would lose his temper and either wind up in the hospital, jail, or both. But then again given the stigma of being an abused boy I probably still wouldn't talk which appears to be the norm and why it is so widespread.
Regulation can't come soon enough for this industry.
About 20 years ago one of the youngest cops ever to be promoted to detective in the City of Chicago told me this after a long night of drinking...
"If I see a car with more than two black people, I just followed it. Sooner or later they'll make a mistake and I can pull them over. Very often one of them will have an outstanding warrant.". When my face turned to horror he asked me the jaw-dropping question "you are Italian, right ?"
Honestly, if ML is statistically driven, how long before it determines that African Americans and Latinos are over represented in the criminal database and should have a higher blacklist score as a rule and the whole cycle repeats. Meanwhile innocent looking white kids can keep selling meth in the park.
But loopholes are different. If you discovered a loophole that made it so your landlord can not enforce rent collection, would you stop paying rent ? That's basically what these companies are doing.
I went to bed with perfect hearing and then woke up with 90% hearing loss in one ear (sudden nerve deafness). Some of it has come back but the gain is not flat across frequencies. It is incredibly disorienting. I was almost hit by a car the other day since I now look in the opposite direction when I hear a car accelerate. I no longer enjoy listening to music and it limits my ability to be witty in casual conversation since I now often second guess what was said. Music sounds weird.
I know a hearing aid would help but I don't want anyone to know I have this problem. Hopefully my brain can just recalibrate the frequencies especially since I have one pretty normal ear.
Regarding your suggestion. I believe a good cochlear implant has about 22 channels. A healthy human ear can discern 300,000+ frequencies. This is why cochlear implants are only given to totally deaf patients. The technology is no where near where it needs to be used on patients with hearing loss.
But the above assumption can't be correct given that it still costs $1000 for a full sequence according the the parent article. Can anyone clarify ?
The above sentiment is the basis of one of my favorite comedy bits by Bill Burr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxINJzqzn4w
