Edit: Dell is a pet friendly company, bringing animals to office is employment perk, and should not be a problem! There are no limitations on species, and humans are technically animals!!!

Old promise for DEI was to improve efficiency by unlocking potential in groups that could not work. Are there some data to suggest it is working? All I see is move from "equality" to "equity" bcos some people are just lazy.
It is very easy to satisfy DEI policy requirements.
Like dropping physical exam requirements for some groups in police force. And how some groups are more like to use lethal force, because they can not physically overpower the suspect.
Also in sports like chess, we strongly insist there are cognitive differences between groups.
But there is no point to have discussion about this. It was under strong censorship over several decades. Asking for "data" is just a meme today.
Soviet countries already went through this 60 years ago. People who had rich parents, had no chance to be accepted at university. Obviously Soviet government had strong "data" to support their policy.
So I guess you are right!
West has something similar with DEI action. Incompetent people are promoted into roles where they hurt people. But that is totally self inflicted idiocy!
