Part of the problem is the unpredictability. I have Nvidia too and I never had these problems.

Which war?

Why would they even need an genAI? Grindr isn't even a dating site, it's a hookup site. A few if statements would do it.
I'm a bit shocked the EU allowed them away with this.

Casio watches never looked as cheap as this watch does. Going with light grey plastic was a mistake, makes it look like a cheap prop of a metallic object.
Surely you can download the extension from a mirror and install it manually(ie the "old fashioned way")?
Re:Once You're Laid Off, You'll Never Be the Same Again on Monday January 27, 2025 @05:08AM (#42839364)
The first layoff is always the worst. You'll treat future gigs as transactional and be better for it. The younger you're laid off the sooner you'll learn this.

Alot of the early people supporting him were left leaning, as soon as his right leaning internet postings became known they turned on him.

I think you mean thirty years, 2004 was almost web 2.0.

Fond memories. Look up also Crimson Editor from the same period, great editor.

I love SciTE but it feels like a technical demo compared to Npp.
Re:J2ME-Loader: J2ME emulator for Android devices on Thursday September 19, 2024 @04:32AM (#41589778)
Was this Opera Mini? I remember installing that on my Nokia many years ago. It used compression as well. https://www.coderanch.com/t/229735/Opera-Mini-browser
You can claim this about all slurs, my point is that most websites don't care and blanket ban them.
The 'N' word has seen a similar adoption and "historical negative connotatione still lingers for those who remember it that way" as well. I doubt they'll allow that particular slur however(and rightly so).
On a side note I find interesting Github allow users to use slurs as their usernames. Never seen it on most websites these days.
I have my emails well filtered. For me, It's Slack/Teams that's full of useless groups of inane chatter and DMs that pop up and annoy me.
It's why I don't use IM and just block myself off on those platforms. If it's not meaningful enough to write in an email then it's not meaningful enough for me to read.
Re:IrfanView on Saturday March 30, 2024 @08:55PM (#39880298)
There a post earlier regarding paint.net and people there mentioned irfanview.
Might depend on how much you sweat and the climate where you live. I personally change every week during summer but fortnightly during winter.
> Global cancer diagnoses will reach 35 million in 2050 ... from the 20 million cases diagnosed in 2022.

How much of this can be attributed to population growth?

I get where you're coming from but this is hacker news, what do you expect? There's alot of people here interested in the technology rather then the "product".

I don't think this is a "loveletter". It's at least 23 years old and is still maintained so it seems to be a serious project with people using it.

Re:Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years (1998) on Monday January 15, 2024 @11:19AM (#39002528)
Ironically your advice of watching YouTube videos and reading SO posts sounds more like those "Teach Yourself in 24 Hours" books. There's no easy shortcuts to truly learning any topic.
The Android and iOS versions of stellarium are not open source or GPL. Only the desktop versions are.
The Android and iOS versions of stellarium are not open source so you can't compile you're own versions.

Might be actually too much if the increase is caused by skin cancers.

Do you have any more information on this? It sounds just too crazy to be true.
