Re:Users Abandon Facebook After Cambridge Analytica Findings on Thursday March 22, 2018 @10:03AM (#16648716)
If only all the sites stopped embedding the social media buttons, i don't mind people on Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc etc, i do mind their tracking buttons everywhere.
Since the example data is stock data, i think it is safe to assume people don't want to be 249.9ms late with their purchase :)
"When you deliver response time that drops down to about a quarter of a second, results seem to be instantaneous to users."

I don't think everybody agrees with this statement.

Blue light indeed is bad for sleeping, painting your walls blue however does work.
oofff... wipes a tear (honestly) i still have the computer of my father, i can't get myself to power it up and go through it. I'm saving it for a day i do feel up to it.
oh yeah, i will give xi another chance, what it didn't crash on it reacted nicely and fast. But no reason to trade in my sublime text yet :)
xi editor, when i tried it, would crash upon opening minimised css of fontawesome

A 3 line file, be it long lines, shouldn't happen

Re:Cockpit – Administer Linux servers via a web browser on Monday February 26, 2018 @03:37AM (#16463981)
Personally, no, i don't want a webserver managing my servers. But i surely hope not the same mistakes or security issues arise that happened for webmin.

If it was a bug in their software, why did only your personal domain get affected?
Re:One year of cycling to work on Wednesday February 21, 2018 @09:18AM (#16429572)
i don't know, i know i have a bad one, as after 15+ mins of cycling, when i get off the bicycle... can't describe it differently.. my balls sleep... and i can describe that that is not a pleasant feeling. e.g. 10 fold worse then a sleeping foot or leg.
Re:Google AMP Is a Threat to the Open Web on Wednesday February 21, 2018 @08:48AM (#16429378)
I miss the 'ads' part of AMP in the article? One of the main goals is to serve ads better/faster.

"The AMP Project is an open-source initiative aiming to make the web better for all. The project enables the creation of websites and ads that are consistently fast, beautiful and high-performing across devices and distribution platforms."

and don't forget, sitting for long periods are known to lead to prostatitis; specially if you have a poor saddle on your bicycle
Re:ISP Spying on Friday February 16, 2018 @05:06AM (#16391241)
scummy often by law, if it was up to many ISPs, like in the early days of the internet, they only cared if you paid your monthly bill.

Re:My next laptop isn't gonna be a Mac on Monday January 29, 2018 @04:59AM (#16256540)
ah sorry about that, the cookie warning was folded over the subtitle and missed that line; wrongly assumed it was an operating system.

Re:I trained an AI to copy my voice and it scared me silly on Monday January 22, 2018 @09:55AM (#16204732)
all i'm getting is upload failed :(
Interesting google has time, money etc for this.

But actually showing search results on page 4 of google search or youtube, when it said there were 22 million results for my search seems too hard for them.

Re:Social Media: Making Us Dumber? on Friday January 12, 2018 @06:00AM (#16131980)
And they require almost all articles to be posted on HN. I have a feeling majority of their (click) traffic comes from HN.

It would be nice of there was a limit on how many articles from same domain can be posted on HN. Nytimes articles in my humble opinion are listed here too often. Or a rule that you cannot post paywalled content. It's becoming quite frustrating when you click a nytimes link.

So when a data breach happens at a government body, who will be fined?
Oh that's why i get all these down votes i apparently spoiled it. Sorry about that, kind of assumed everybody saw it already lol

All seasons watched here, great series.

I don't know, after seeing "Be Right Back" episode of Black Mirror (episode 1 season 2), get really close to living after your death.
