As a citizen of a country currently defending in a war, unmanned systems are a literal lifesaver. We can send an armed robot where we previously would have to send a soldier. This is a good thing and before the war many had the same pacifist sentiment in the tech sector, but it's completely reversed now.

Though I can understand your position being in a country that's not defending itself currently.

Paper inside a plastic bottle will be fine.
Ukraine just made a decision on that, importing fuel from India is going to restricted starting October 1st https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2025/09/15/7530979/
There are different calibers of mortar shells, bigger size has more range and power. I think author of the article has cheated by not specifying the caliber, because a 155mm artillery shell cost is more than a $1000, precision guided one cost is tens of thousands. While a drone capable of reaching 10km+ costs less than $1000, without payload.
Run it in a VM.

People want a desktop because they

1. can use a smartphone for all mobile tasks

2. see better on a large screen

3. are more comfortable with a mouse than a trackpad

4. don't have to worry about spilling tea on a laptop or dropping it on the floor. A keyboard is cheap to replace if that happens.

Yes, it doesn't have to be very flexible. But every pipe is flexible to some extent. I'm thinking about my 25m deep well, with 32mm PE pipe, scaled up. It is flexible enough to be forcefully rolled up into a 5m diameter circle. When I've pulled it out, it has naturally bent into a big arch across my yard, under it's own weight. Scale that up in your imagination.
Pipes would either be flexible, or rigid but assembled in sections, so you'd disassemble the pipe while pulling it out.
DIY batteries here are usually battery banks assembled from Chinese LiFePo4 cells, plus a Chinese BMS.
Old EU toilets can be poop shelf. When I've shopped for new one in 2015, there was not a single one of that design.
> how do I charge the tenant for electricity?

Just buy another electricity meter and install it after the inverter.

In my country the car registration document has the weight number but not the width number. I suspect in France it's the same, and that's the reason they went by weight instead of width – it's easier to administer that way.

The nationals are the country and should take responsibility for their country's actions because it's effectively their actions.

Russian citizenship is not something that people cherish or want. Most of the Russian territory and population has been occupied at some point: Siberia long time ago, Caucasus in the past centuries, Crimea in 2014. Russians don't care about those people the same way the care about their own.
Re:The Undeniable Street View on Monday March 27, 2023 @10:25AM (#35327049)
Ukraine does not publish any official numbers of Ukrainian losses, only confirmed numbers of Russian losses.

I've got a source for you: this Ukrainian is serving in Bakhmut right now. He's a "YouTube guy" in his unit, consistently uploading good quality footage. Skip the talking part and watch https://www.youtube.com/@MotoLifeUA/videos
You've chosen a wrong place to disinform. Tech people understand that having russian CA certificates installed allows russia to MITM all your traffic, if they can access it.

It still burns fuel and exhausts CO2 doing that.
Re:Why do new cars look like “Wet Putty”? on Wednesday December 07, 2022 @06:15AM (#33893073)
In my country everyone is speeding as well, but speed limits are enforced primarily by the radar-cameras, not cops. So you just have to know location of those cameras (thanks, Waze) and slow down there.

I assumed that your concern was cops giving trouble just because they can, not for actual violations.

Isn't it wrong that "attention from cops" is a factor in your everyday life?
Re:Toyota CEO talks about why he isn’t all-in on EVs on Tuesday October 04, 2022 @09:19AM (#33079919)
It absolutely happens with EVs as well. I’m Ukrainian, here people have been importing totaled cars from US for years, including a lot of Nissan Leafs and Teslas. Some businesses restoring those totaled Teslas grew from a garage shop into large and successful enterprises.
Sternenko got a popular channel covering the war in Ukraine, so of course he's become a target of Russian bot army. Now they're using the reporting mechanism to try and silent him on YouTube. As a result, here's an (incomplete, translated) list of phrases he's now unable to use in his video titles:

- Kherson

- south

- russians

- the sky is blue

- UAF

- army of Ukraine

For individual homes, it often takes three stakes, each several meters long (deep), placed in a triangular config, connected above ground.
I've had a Lightning port fail on my original SE last year. Replaced it with the part taken from a donor SE. That was a bit scarier job than replacing the battery, but still doable.
Re:High-Security Mechanical Locks (2020) on Wednesday April 27, 2022 @11:26AM (#31181136)
I have Abloy Protec2 on my front door, with optional hardened plate (product code CH101) protecting it from drilling. The key hole in the plate is just big enough for a key to go through, but not big enough to allow damage to the lock mechanism. They've thought about it.
Re:World military expenditure passes $2T for first time on Wednesday April 27, 2022 @10:27AM (#31180311)
That mistake was already made in the 90s. The West had high hopes of transforming Russia into a civilised member of the world, and they've just used that support to strengthen themselves. Russians are imperialistic, Russians opposing Putin are imperialistic too. They despise other nationalities, especially those of the neighbouring countries.
