Re:Katamari Damacy but it's The Met collection on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @06:54AM (#50350870)
Every Katamari Damacy clone misses what made it so great: the transition between zoom levels. "I started so small and now I've sucked up everything on the planet!" The transitions between zoom levels was so well done in the original game, and none of these clones even attempt it.
Re:Inception-style curved map for turn-by-turn directions on Saturday August 29, 2026 @10:17AM (#49490101)
I did a similar prototype years ago in Rhino where the user was always the bottom of a bowl. This demo, like the Berg map, is cylindrical. Every turn causes a drastic transformation of the entire landscape and this is really jarring.

The cylindrical view makes the "wall" very legible, whereas with the bowl the far off intersection are not orthogonal in view. But I think the value of a transformation like this is making it easier to understand the next steps, not the further off landscape.

I've been meaning to vibecode a version that lifts and lowers different landscape sections based on relevance. If those ideas are interesting, give it a go!

Re:What AI Is Really For on Thursday November 20, 2025 @05:33AM (#45991212)
I greatly appreciate this type of thinking. If you debone the meat yourself, do you make stock or use the bones in any way? You obviously care about personal process optimization and health factors, and I'm curious to what extent you are thinking of the entire food/ingredient supply chain.
Re:Enough AI Copilots, We Need AI HUDs on Sunday July 27, 2025 @09:41PM (#44706402)
I'd rather flip this around and be in a fully immersive environment watching agents do things in such a way that I am able to interject and guide in realtime. How do we build that, and build it in such a way that the content and delivery of my guidance becomes critical to what they learn? The best teacher gets the best AI students.
Re:A look at the creative process behind Bluey and Cocomelon on Wednesday March 12, 2025 @06:48AM (#43341804)
Not an entertaining show to a parent, but Wonderoos is another kids show that has had a positive impact on my 2 children. In each episode a wonderoo identifies a choice has to be made, makes the choice that leads to a worse outcome, and then rewinds to make the right choice. While making the choice they always say, "let's chalk it out", and I've heard my kids say this and then state two choices in their own activities. There is also an episode where a lonely wonderoo at the playground decides between trying to make friends with the other kids or just waiting to see what happens. First they wait, and nothing happens, and then they rewind and go introduce themselves and become friends. One day at the park my shy 4 year old asked me to help her introduce herself to another kiddo. Def she got that from the show!

I don't know about how that show is made, but my guess is that it is more like cocomelon, scientifically tested for efficacy, but with the right intentions set by child development experts.

In the study they use Mankai Duckweed, which is a proprietary strand of Duckweed that is no longer sold to consumers as of 2022 or so. The corporate website still has an intake form for distributors and restaurants/businesses.

Studies that use proprietary plants are always suspicious to me.

I really hope this mission is designed with VR in mind. Obviously any feed will be delayed, but it would be amazing if Nasa figured out a way to package the vessel approach and other key moments as a livestream VR experience. It should feel like the modern version of everyone watching the moon landing (not that i was there).

They could even create an abstract visualization of the total number of people of viewing, so that when you look back into outer space you are overwhelmed with the realization that this is a moment for all of humanity, not just another stream amongst so much drivel.

Best VR use case I can think of!
