"Super good" is overstating the situation. The US trails most of Western Europe in average lifespan. Obviously the US is a great place to be rich (maybe the best place in the world?), but most of us aren't rich.
What military tech has the US gotten from Israel?

What concrete, specific advantages from having an allied country in a distant region?

I think young Americans have learned all their lives that ethnostates are bad, especially those based on religion. I think they (we) want a one state solution where Palestinians are full Israeli citizens who can move, work, and vote freely.
It’s hard to believe those numbers when (according to anonymous Israeli military officers) the Israelis are willing to routinely accept civilian casualties of 20 to 1. https://www.972mag.com/lavender-ai-israeli-army-gaza/
Honest question: why does the US need Israel? Or, to put it another way, what concrete help or advantages has Israel given the US over the last few decades?

Even in the (ill-conceived and disastrous) Iraq and Afghanistan wars other ME nations produced a lot more help than Israel did.

You can see just fine out of Metro North windows, which are apparently the same half-inch of polycarbonate glazing. So what’s the difference? Does Metro North replace the windows more frequently?
I think Microsoft assumes you’ll use Adobe Acrobat Pro
To be clear, you’re talking about it’s instead of the correct its, right?
Too bad DoorDash is exempt
Something is off here. Vaccines in summer 2019 (before covid)? Pfizer available in August 2020? Timeline is wonky.

Vaccines in my memory only become broadly available April 2021 (in the US), and at that time I knew people who got Pfizer and people who got Moderna.

Not a lot of actual details in the piece. Anyone have links to academic job ads before and after this alleged change in policy?

Wow that google street view image is unspeakably grim. Looks better flipping through photos on google maps. Looks like the other side has some big windows.

Seems weird to remove the names of former employees. What’s sensitive about that information? In lots of other industries people insist on proper credits acknowledging their work.
The US federal government is already pretty weak compared to other countries. The federal government looks pretty bad at the moment, but I’m not sure further weakening it will help the country.
I don’t see any signs in those photos that are explicitly pro Hamas. Which sign are you referring to?
Can you provide a link to the Daily Journal piece with photos of the apartment? I can’t find it.
Re:Poor Predictors: Job Interviews Are Useless and Unfair on Monday April 08, 2024 @11:28PM (#39975986)
Lots of the big tech companies do interviews with randos first and then do a “team match” round if the candidate passes. I don’t see how it helps with disabilities.

Yes, the article discusses slow, expensive repairs and Tesla’s price drops
What was the point of finding the actual list you asked for if you weren’t even going to look at it?
The official list is published on the Gaza Health Ministry’s telegram account. The most recent list is available at https://t.me/MOHMediaGaza/5261.
The article under discussion says that even by internal Israeli calculations in the early days of the war on a typical day “another thousand Gazans have died, most of them civilians.” Given the population demographics of Gaza, I do not think it’s a stretch you might get to 20,000 minors killed.

The article also questions your claim that the IDF was careful to protect civilians by eg destroying empty building. On the contrary, the IDF accepted extremely high civilian deaths to kill even one suspected minor militant.

I do find it a little amusing to think that proximity to a Walmart (!) is a marker of the arrogant urbanite. I’ve never gone to Walmart as frequently as I did in a town of 10k in rural Iowa, and here in the NY suburbs it looks like the closest Walmart is a 19 mile drive.
The article nominally under discussion in this post claims that Israel is torturing Gazan civilians without cause. As far as I can tell it’s a convincing demonstration.

How can you tell? Parenting isn’t exactly quantifiable.
