Jesus man. Don’t choke on the leather.
Why are you so certain of this? Oh it was a problem before so we should just keep doing nothing even though it will almost certainly become exponentially worse with AI? Love this plan.
Totally normal the first days even weeks are a bit fuzzy. Your body is adapting to a completely different metabolic system. It’s very stressful.
I was diehard keto for over a year straight. Chronic inflammation that I’ve lived with my entire life disappeared totally after a few weeks. I became pretty dogmatic about the whole thing and eventually my body started to suffer. I don’t believe it to be a long term sustainable diet, at least not at the level i was doing it (sub 20g carbs a day).

My blood tests got very worrying towards the latter part of the year and I started to have regular panic attacks and what I can only presume is chronic low blood sugar that ultimately left me feeling pretty lifeless and scared.

Anyways just my personal anecdote to remain cautiously optimistic

Good riddance to X.
Re:What happened to the lab-leak hypothesis? on Friday June 24, 2022 @02:50PM (#31867589)
What...literally everyone knew there was AT LEAST airbone risk of infection. Not sure where you got your pandemic information?
How long did it take you? What level of expertise do you have in terms of disassembly / electronics in general? Did you read this quote from the article:

"Even better, it appears the battery isn’t trapped under the logic board. That could mean battery swaps without removing all the brains first—a procedure we’ve been dreaming about for a while."

That...seems like a pretty big improvement?

He's not advocating for the brand "Bulletproof", the coffee recipe itself is simply called "bulletproof coffee", it's the combination of normal coffee (whatever type you choose) combined with MCT oil and Ghee/butter.
I don't give a shit what you believe if your entire platform is built upon "White people are discriminated against and jews are bad".

EDIT - Ah, Trump supporter, that explains it.

Hacker news is every bit as full of misogynistic assholes as reddit/4chan, they all worship Paul Graham who basically has the same world view as Damore.

Re:How to Get into VR on Wednesday May 03, 2017 @02:00PM (#14258350)
One good example as of late is The Wave VR. http://thewavevr.com/

A crossover between game / social experience / musical fantasy. They have live shows once a week and have been gaining momentum within the VR community quite rapidly.

Important to remember we are quite literally still just beyond the one year mark since consumer VR devices hit the market. It will only get better.

I agree the Gear is not where VR is going in the future. You need full room-scale immersion to really "feel" like you are experiencing something truly new and exciting. 360 sports videos are NOT the future of VR.

Yup, seems legit.

Re:Using A-Frame for WebVR and AR on Saturday April 08, 2017 @12:22AM (#14065296)
I built a Kubernetes Pod visualizer using A-Frame back in October of last year - https://medium.com/@iamnayr/building-the-kubernetes-virtual-...

Fantastic framework, I haven't had my hands on it in a number of months but I know there have been some big improvements just in that time frame alone.

Fair criticism, however, it's very clear this will become the new norm moving forward after Trump's remarks this morning - http://nypost.com/2017/02/24/trump-doubles-down-on-fight-wit...

Re:What Vizio was doing behind the TV screen on Monday February 06, 2017 @06:52PM (#13585555)
Yeah not much of a punishment to discourage further abuse. Should have fined them on a ratio of the number of data points they collected (100 billion). Even a 100:1 seems like a reasonable punishment for this scale of abuse ($1 billion)
Re:Colorizing black and white photos with deep learning on Friday January 08, 2016 @01:13PM (#10866894)
I believe your first assumption was correct: "The output is the middle image. The right image is the true color"
Re:HAproxy in the era of Microservices on Monday October 26, 2015 @01:01PM (#10452687)
It's called Smartstack and is also entirely open-source - http://nerds.airbnb.com/smartstack-service-discovery-cloud/

Having been a long-time user, I can tell you the added complexity of every service having to allocate its own port, then tracking that port across every other service is a lot of overhead on its own.

Not to mention you also have to run a zookeeper cluster and two additional daemons on every instance.

All in all it's a good concept, but slightly too complex for my needs. Recently made the switch back to using internal ELB's for every service and not looking back.

Re:VorePad - Convore for iPad on Friday April 22, 2011 @01:45PM (#2474788)
Thanks. I took NHNJL49XL9RW from the site. Looks like a cool new way to interact with Convore (possibly my preferred method).
Don't fret. I can't see why people are getting so upset about this. Seems they are more in defense of the "suspects" rights then the fact that he blatantly stole your laptop in the first place.

Personally I found what you did to be hilarious and a perfect example of justice and (quite possibly) the best deterrent for this criminal to change his ways.

Great share. Really interesting to see how an idea went from a simple question to someone to a viral web-app in no time at all.

Out of curiosity, how are the stats on Crush notifier holding up?

No kidding.

>"In less than an hour, any reasonably skilled programmer can write an application that will "skim" – or steal – a consumer's financial and personal information right off the card utilizing an easily obtained Square card reader."

Oh, but wait, we already DID IT FOR YOU.

VeriFone, protecting consumers by posting hacked apps to skim credit card numbers.

Re:Apple to Unveil IPad 2 on March 2 in San Francisco on Tuesday February 22, 2011 @01:50PM (#2251000)
The picture isn't actually for the March 2nd event.
Consider this: I make a blog post on my relatively new blog examplesite.com. Techcrunch picks up on the article and immediately reposts it on their site. Which do you recon would be the first to get indexed?

Now which is the original from Google's point of view? Relatively smaller blogs can take significantly longer to index then sites that have massive amounts of content moving about daily.

Re:How I Built a Startup High Frequency Trading Firm on Monday January 31, 2011 @03:52PM (#2163120)
This just screams link bait and spam.

Just look at the domain: "howtohft.blogspot.com".

1) Post fake "how I built X startup to do X" post, add juicy terms like "bootstrapped" and "college".

2) Post on HN

3) ????

4) Profit.

This ^

I've managed sites with nearly 99% of traffic coming directly from search engines and some as low as 5%. It correlates directly with the type of site you are managing.

If you are targeting a very specific niche community, you would likely receive much better results injecting yourself into that community and becoming an authoritative figure and focusing on direct marketing then an all-out SEO campaign. However, if your selling cases for the iPhone 4, your much better off with focusing all of your efforts on conquering the top spots on Google.
