Just wait until they place an ad in your clipboard

Given the context, when I first read this I was like wow! Advertisers want to know your sexual position? Then, I saw lat, lon and then realized that either way shouldn't surprise me.

An altruistic blockchain project?

Hi, I was recently at a hackathon with a couple of friends and we decided to make a decentralized platform for science and math problems that democratizes the computation and data availability. Similar to other distributed computing platforms like BOINC, but Arithmetica will be built for the distributed web and will be much easier to use.Arithmetica is run entirely in the browser with nothing...

Great work and congrats on making it to the top of HN.

I did something similar awhile back...I called it inception host :)

Will do. Thanks for the tip.
Re:Show HN: A collaborative platform for computational math on Thursday March 08, 2018 @01:54PM (#16546638)
One more thing, this is not an ICO. There is no token sale, no profit motive, we just want to democratize results from computation math and showcase what is possible with Ethereum/IPFS.

Here are some additional links:

To participate in the Collatz Conjecture: http://arithmetica.network/contribute#Collatz%20Conjecture

To define a new problem for others to work on: http://arithmetica.network/contribute

These links point to the version of Arithmetica that was submitted to ETHDenver. Since then , we have been working on refactoring and coming up with a scalable solution for saving state.

The project is open source and anyone is welcome to contribute, or fork. We welcome any questions/feedback.

There has to be some kind of Bitcoin faucet, as euphemism for the clap, joke here.
Re:Ask HN: 0/30 in the job hunt. Is this typical? on Monday January 22, 2018 @09:04PM (#16210258)
Great analysis... I like your 'outshine the master comment'. There is a good chance that the OP is intimidating the interviewer and should make an effort to display humility to counteract this.

You just used the same argument that some parents use when they decide to not vaccinate their children. They essentially rely on the fact that everyone else vaccinates so they don't have to. This trend catches on and now measles are at a 20 year high.
Re:Jamie Dimon: I ‘Regret’ Calling Bitcoin a Fraud on Tuesday January 09, 2018 @09:21PM (#16112088)
He made his 'Bitcoin is a fraud' comment in September when Bitcoin was somewhere between $3000-$4000. In October, he called Bitcoin investors stupid.

Bitcoin has done nothing, but increase in value since then. If JD was trying to spread FUD in order to buy cheap....that clearly didn't work. No one in the Bitcoin space gives a shit what that guy says.

These people can't help themselves.

Why read it multiple times? Just close your eyes
All the confusion from Americans is totally understandable. That being said, the title addressed his audience...Londoners. Comments suggesting a title change, so that people he wasn't intending to talk to can understand, is expecting too much. If the topic interests you, take the time to read for more context, maybe even ask, or research it.

Sorry...DFW over Houston.

Better weather, higher elevation, significantly lower cost of living, and more people.

Where are you getting your numbers from? Philadelphia's cost of living is higher than say.... Dallas (And Houston And Austin). Plus DFW metropolitan area is the 4th largest in the US (7.2 million) whereas Philly is 7th (6 million).

Sorry..I couldn't resist using Dallas as an example considering it is American Football season.

Don't forget that we can listen to their attempt at verbalizing that knowledge and then, in turn, draw/verbalize our own sketchy conclusions....and so on.
