Thank you so much for info about this. Does anyone has list of known "traps" like that on Cloudflare? I only want to use them for proxying my IPv6 website, SSL, and nothing else.
Re:I'm just so bored of AI on Monday July 06, 2026 @08:07AM (#48803519)
Could not agree more with this. AI bubble needs to burst. Since AI I hate this industry more and more with every day.You can't buy PC for normal price anymore, because AI bubble bought everything. I did not wanted any kind of AI in my OS/website/whatever software.

But searching for job literally made me asking myself what I am even doing with my life.

Here is quote of e-mail, I got from one of HR recruiters:

```Good morning. In connection with your application for an IT Administrator position, we kindly ask you to answer the following questions. Please respond within 5 days.
Name and surname:
1. What AI models or tools do you actively use? 2. What has changed in your approach to work with AI? 3. Have you built or configured any tools using AI? If so, which ones? 4. What is your main area of interest in AI?```
I feel like I don't fit into this industry anymore.
I'm in my 20's now, graduated secondary school (as IT Technician). In meantime cured marrow aplasia.
I love 2000's era (especially tech, but music too). I think almost everything about 2000's tech was superior, from hardware to software. Things were solid, build to last. Software had clean, simple user interface. The user was invited, not forced to do something. For me nothing can beat philosophy of XMB (XrossMediaBar).
I don't know how to find my way in all this IT thing now. Never liked programming, what always intetested me was hardware and IT administration. But every day I wake up it just gets worse. IaC, SaaS, software is worse than ever before. And don't forget hardware speculations.
In 2000's tech was so easy, now it's just annonying, harder and obfuscated with every day.
I miss 2000's simplicity.
Yes.
Re:Windows 7 x64 Extended Support Page on Tuesday August 26, 2025 @02:34PM (#45030462)
5950x, 1050 Ti I am still using Windows 7! (Alongside with latest Linux Mint for actual important stuff).
Unfortunately now the quality of software is only going downhill.
Re:The 20 year old PSP can now connect to WPA2 WiFi Networks on Saturday February 15, 2025 @06:21AM (#43057712)
DS games didn't even worked with WPA.
Only DSi Enchanced and 3DS games supported WPA2 at best. Your best bet is using older router with OpenWRT to make WPA3 to WEP bridge.
+1, tell us more.
Personally back in the days I had Nintendo DSi, but just recently I bought gamepad for phone just to check what I have missed by not owning PSP at that time :)
Re:I will never need to buy a new computer again on Sunday January 12, 2025 @01:32PM (#42675624)
Refurbished laptops can be superior in comparison to cheap Bestbuy laptops. These old laptops are often much more solid built, have better keyboards, may even have better screens (FYI brand new laptops with cheap TN 1366x768 screens are still manufactured).
Good refurb definitely should have an SSD and battery at least in good condition.
Re:Exposing the Honey Influencer Scam [video] on Sunday December 22, 2024 @10:12AM (#42486819)
For me It was somehow obvious "they need to make money on something", and it doesn't surprise me at all that they are inserting own affiliate links. Would I call this scam? No, I wouldn't. Firstly I thought they started to genuinely deploy malware or some crypto-coin miner.
Re:Show HN: I built a(nother) house optimized for LAN parties on Monday November 18, 2024 @11:06AM (#42173701)
Man, This looks really awesome! However I have some questions. 1. Do you plan CPU overclocking of your gaming rigs? I'm asking because on so many PCs it doesn't seem realistic, so why did you go with 13600KF CPU instead of cheaper 13500/13600 non-K CPU? Also, If you don't plan overclocking didn't you through about going with cheaper B760 Motherboard + 10Gbit/s NIC? 2. Why did you choosed so slow memory? These i5 can benefit a lot in gaming from fast memory such as 7200MT/s+. 6000MT/s CL30 would probably be at same price as your kit, while providing nice performance boost in games. 3. How does Key rollover work for you on K120? Can you use Shift + W + 1 key combo for example? Just asking, because some people on Internet say such combo won't work on later batches of K120.
In this setup what I really appreciate is that you didn't go with Virtualized PCs route (that causes a lot of problems with modern video games) and so much amemities for your cat :)
This, I just don't understand why it seems only latest iPhones got this.
Re:Ask HN: Which movies did you watch multiple times? on Sunday August 25, 2024 @07:15AM (#41346415)
Inception (2010), Matrix (1999 was the best), John Wick series, Fast Furious 1, 2, Tokyo Drift.
How does this compare to Wallpaper Engine?
I agree, that's why I am daily driving Samsung Galaxy S10 (exynos version) on LineageOS.
I miss 2010-2015 smartphone market, it was much more innovative than it's now :(
On Samsung's Netherlands website they also declare 2400 TBW.
http://web.archive.org/web/20240714091323/https://www.samsun...
US site pricing doesn't include taxes, keep that in mind.
Their pricing is similar between Poland and UK, especially when you consider taxes. Poland X-Kom: 1 649,00 zł scan.co.uk: £323.99 (1 636,33 PLN)
Samsung declares different TBW for same SSD model on different markets
I have same issue on LOS 21 and RHvoice.
I just miss Windows 7 :(
It's mostly up to you and your requirements. Most laptops should be fine, that doesn't really matter that much whenever do you use windows or Linux. I think thinkpads are way too over hyped. I would just grab something with good build quality, and specs you need. If you want something really fancy like fingerprint, smartcard reader make sure it's compatible with Linux, that's all.
I wouldn't recommend fedora as it uses RPM and SElinux which can be tricky, especially for beginners.
I am mid-advanced Linux user, I would went with Linux Mint, no matter is it for me or for somebody totally new.
Up to 10% performance hit isn't small. Controversial opinion, but linux isn't good for gaming even in 2024.
People who are making such things possible are doing great piece of work, but I would say it's more about gaming industry isn't ready for this. Developers still don't case about linux, performance hit is too big, anti-cheat systems have issues and Linux desktop is too fragmented.
OOBE\BYPASSNRO still works at least
They just fixed bug I guess...
Unless "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" still works I don't have any problem with that
Re:AMD Ryzen Master Utility for Overclocking Control on Sunday February 18, 2024 @12:41AM (#39416528)
Overclocking on Linux almost doesn't exist in comparison to Windows. Most of tools aren't available on Linux.
