Ask HN: How does open banking payments work?

Can someone help me understand how it is different from the traditional schemes like ACH and SEPA? Or is the built on top of these existing rails to make the payment? From a consumer POV is there a preference for open banking tools like Plaid or Trustly while shopping online?

Re:Ask HN: Time to kill at work; what to do? on Monday April 15, 2024 @02:30AM (#40037588)
I wish more people took this seriously and wrote better docs. Sometimes even internally feature understanding across teams is sparse.
We do have a few senior devs around for reviewing their work. But the ratio is skewed. And that is exactly my goal, how do I get them up to the level of seniors?

Ask HN: How to provide feedback to developers as a Product Manager

As a non-technical product manager having direct developer reports, how do I help them grow in their career? We don't have engineering managers in our org and hence the product managers have to double up as engg. managers as well. And most of my team developers are very young and recent graduates and I want them to get the right mentorship to grow. I do have regular one-on-one chats with them...

Not trying to be all sales-y here, but at Hyperswitch we truly believe in democratising payments and have built an open-source payments orchestrator. https://github.com/juspay/hyperswitch

Show HN: Open-source card tokenization service in Rust

https://github.com/juspay/hyperswitch-card-vault

The payment ecosystem is dominated by closed systems and walled gardens, and with the ever increasing layers of intermediaries. We've simplified the process of setting up your own card vault so that you can take control over tokenizing your customer's credit / debit cards without having to deal with third parties.

Okay, does the regulation vary upon different regions?
Yes we would have to provision to delete it upon request. We are looking to use this for fraud risk management.

Ask HN: Would storing an irreversible card fingerprint violate GDPR compliance?

Would it be okay to generate an store a card fingerprint using a irreversible one-way hashing lead to a violation of GDPR compliance? We are based out of the US.I'm not able to find any specific documentation that discusses about the user consent here? Would it be a violation of privacy from a GDPR standpoint?

Collapse does not close all the comments in the thread but only that particular comment.
Erlich Bachman
Surprisingly this seems to be a common feedback from all. We wanted to go with an aesthetic that would appeal universally, but I guess went over-the-top with it.
We thought allowing edits might break the consistency across the flow. But thanks for your feedback we'll try to solve for this in the next update.

> [3] Checkout experience: how much do you care about the UX of your checkout given you have to render the paypal button separately

There might not be a drastic improvement in the checkout UX even if Stripe offered Paypal as a payment method, but whether providing paypal would improve conversion rates is a question to be answered.

Re:Add PayPal to your Stripe integration on Monday July 31, 2023 @10:56AM (#36943554)
But wouldn't that consume a significant amount of your dev efforts? OP's dashboard seems to be solving for it already.

Are there any tools to identify stack sizes and function traces?
