Ask HN: Would you use DeFi if you didn't have to use pub/priv keys?

I'm currently working on a project to streamline the process for getting non-crypto users access to defi interest rates on their cash.I know HN isn't really my target market, given everyone here is tech savvy and could manager their own keys (not to mention HN isn't exactly pro-crypto). But, if any of your non-technical friends would be interested, feel free to forward this on to them. I'm...

can you say more about this? I'm curious to hear your reasoning.
Re:Show HN: Degen Raffle – A raffle built on Ethereum on Saturday August 28, 2021 @06:52PM (#28342252)
If only 1 person has entered a round and the round is ended, that person would just receive their money back.

That said, it's not explicitly necessary that anyone be able to end a round. I could have constrained it to only the players in the round, but I thought this was also an interesting twist.

The project is still very much in it's infancy though, so I'm definitely open to ideas (including the name :D).

Show HN: Degen Raffle – A raffle built on Ethereum

Hey HN!I've been working on this idea off and on for a few weeks now and I figured it was time to show it to folks before continuing to build it out any further (hence the terrible UI).The idea is this: A smart contract that allows players to win the tokens in the contract in proportion to the number of tokens they've depositing into the smart contract. For example, if you and another player...

I've had this idea for years and always wanted to try building it. Glad you did so I didn't have to :D

Well done!

Is this open-sourced?
It would be nice to be able to delete a book from the list
usually these things are really bad, but this one is great! Cheers!

I've heard of v2ex before, I'll sign up now. Thank you! :)

Are there any others that are primarily Indian-centric that a US developer might not know about?
I'm super interested in this, but, every time I try this you end up losing me in the funnel. It takes too long to set everything up and I eventually lose interest and exit.
not to mention continued cloud growth, not just as a market, but the AWS share of that growing market.
100% agree with this.
Amazon's PE has always been this high
Software Engineering Daily & Epicenter
What's interesting about this is I could see it coming a few days ago. Funding rates on FTX were super high, so you could see people were getting reckless with leverage leading up to this.
Re:Plan 9 from Bell Labs on Sunday March 21, 2021 @09:46PM (#26535971)
Only because I was just reading the Wikipedia page before I posted this :)

It looks like Plan 9 failed simply because it fell short of being a compelling enough improvement on Unix to displace its ancestor. Compared to Plan 9, Unix creaks and clanks and has obvious rust spots, but it gets the job done well enough to hold its position. There is a lesson here for ambitious system architects: the most dangerous enemy of a better solution is an existing codebase that is just good enough.
