Ask HN: What do you use to document API Contracts?

For example, I work in a big company with many teams responsible for small components. My team has an API contract with our mobile app team and sometimes the mobile app team decides to change something in the API request format without telling us. We use Jira tickets to communicate these requirements. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience, of this other team is just being lazy.

Re:Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate? on Wednesday January 05, 2022 @12:07AM (#29805370)
Ive seen that, that is more of a public "Want to sell your compute to random strangers on the internet?" as far as I understand. my offering is private, supposed to be something for individual companies to make use of their own idle compute on their own business problems.
How did you find your first few customers?
Re:Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate? on Saturday January 01, 2022 @01:24PM (#29761068)
I am working on a project whos intent is to harness unused computational power from unused/rarely used servers or other devices, and allows a business to run background jobs on this spare compute.

Think BOINC but for enterprise. I've never validated this idea if its actually something businesses would use, but I've had fun coding it so far as just a side project.

I have been overwhelmed since I have not built anything like this before, It would be useful to have someone to bounce ideas off of and work with. The plan down the line is to open source this codebase. It would be great if you are familiar with:

-IPFS

-Golang

-Decentralized databases

Details should be in my profile. Also, I work on VR browser Games so if you are interested in collabing on that let me know.

Ask HN: How to get ISP Outage data?

Hi, I'm working on an open source project where I'd like to incorporate ISP outage data. Ask HN: Best way to find cofounder organically?

Since the start of covid, I have been working remotely (as most) and I'd like to set myself up to organically find a cofounder soon. I don't have many close tech friends. Do you have any recommendations?I thought the best way to do this would be to apply for a graduate CS program and go back to school, make some friends."Wait.. you're applying to grad school just to make friends to meet a...

Re:Ask HN: Low vs. High COL advice for dev on Saturday July 17, 2021 @07:19PM (#27869579)
Thanks for the advice, I believe both are possible and that I can work from home while making the trip out to LA for conferences every so often, and hopefully make some friends during my trips there. My main desire now is to just build things, and remote work would give me enough time to do that. Moving anywhere, especially a currently overpriced housing market like Seattle/Bellevue, would probably steal a lot of energy and time out of building.

Ask HN: Low vs. High COL advice for dev

Hi there, I'm a software engineer at a big tech on the west coast. Due to the pandemic and remote work, We have been living in a small town in California, awesome cost of living, great house. With my employer calling me back to Seattle, I've decided to transfer teams.I have the choice of one team, in a field I've always wanted to learn more about (health tech) but unfortunately is located in...
