News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

It's almost like you can easily kill a vast number of people with guns but not words. Curious...
Care to share your data?
It's not though, it's a pretty standard component.
It seems unlikely that smartphones would be targeted for such an attack because almost nobody stores large amounts of crypto on their smartphone. Those that do will likely get hacked more traditionally.
There have been more hacks, bugs, and coins lost from software or custodial wallets than ever have and likely ever will be lost from hardware wallets.
Re:Ledger Nano X: the spy implant on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @04:57PM (#50078628)
I presume because iPhones have a secure TPM and nobody is targeting them for crypto supply chain attacks.

Enshittification right from the start...
Next election is midterms, not presidential.
Looks great on Firefox Android, not sure what you're seeing.
No need to be such a dick, it reflects poorly on you.
Re:Passkeys are a trap. Do not use them on Monday October 12, 2026 @10:29AM (#50056968)
A cloud synced passkey is still better than a cloud synced password, and that is the alternative.

As a native English speaker, same.
Re:Revealing the details of how OpenAI agents hacked Hugging Face on Saturday September 26, 2026 @12:28PM (#49858073)
Models that figured out reward hacking became overall more evil. Like stereotypical AI who wants to kill all humans stuff, there's probably a lot of that in the training data.

A court ordered judgement isn't taxation, try again.
Re:A Model for Winning Survivor on Sunday September 20, 2026 @11:24AM (#49776780)
>Survivor is edited after the fact, once the winners and all the arcs of contestants are known.

That might make it easier for the model to pick up on clues from the editing process. Like winners get more on-screen confessionals or something like that.

So they're good at planning but only when used certain ways.

There's a great free Yale lecture series called Death that goes into this.

https://oyc.yale.edu/philosophy/phil-176/lecture-12

Version 1: A mad scientist swaps your mind with another person's (Linda's), then asks which resulting body he should torture. Intuition says spare the one with your personality, so personality looks like the key to identity.

Version 2: He's going to torture you, but first gives you amnesia, then makes you believe you're Linda, then gives Linda your memories. Intuition says don't torture your body, so the body looks like the key.

Good luck to them enforcing that license.
You think they care about the probably unenforceable license terms?
Link your sources then, because I think you're full of shit.
No more cost plus contracts.
Yes, they place these at places where they're needed, the outliers.
Re:Cloudflare Quick Tunnels on Friday September 18, 2026 @07:47PM (#49761801)
Strange, battery use is negligible on Android, particularly when the tunnel is not in active use.
Re:Google no longer provides direct URLs in search results on Friday September 18, 2026 @07:27PM (#49761631)
Can you provide any examples of failed Kagi searches that Google returned without issue? I've never run into that.
Re:How to Write with an LLM on Friday September 18, 2026 @07:03PM (#49761421)
Sure, if you don't mind your fact checker to be confidently wrong often.
All of it... it reads like someone experiencing mania.
It's actually worse than that. IP laws trump property laws because they prevent you from using your property in ways you would otherwise be able to. It's nothing more than base rent seeking.
This is going to blow your mind, but people created music, literature, art long before intellectual property laws existed. IP laws are nothing but rent seeking.
Re:Everybody's Lost Their Minds on Thursday September 17, 2026 @11:42PM (#49749940)
TIL a global pandemic that infected hundreds of millions and killed millions of people wasn't an inherent problem.

You're saying that bankrupting a casino was actually 4D chess? Ok, buddy, whatever you say.
