Unfortunately, Goodreads disabled their API. However, Shelby can natively import a Gooreads CSV export! Hope you can give it a try.

Hey HN! I built a little side project I wanted to share.Shelvy is a free, visual bookshelf app where you can organize books you're reading, want to read, or have finished. Sign in to save your own collection. Not monetized, no ads, no tracking beyond basic auth. Just a fun weekend project that grew a bit.Live: https://shelvybooks.comWould love any feedback on the UX or feature ideas!

Re:Rails, still? on Saturday September 01, 2018 @03:49PM (#17893615)

One of the biggest and often overlooked features of Rails is rspec and db:migrate. For whatever reason, I have yet to find alternatives in other frameworks that have matched the elegance of these 2 indispensable tools.

Similarly, while I'm not a huge fan of ORMs im general, ActiveRecord is pretty hard to beat pound for pound.
