So very low margin businesses with hogh amounts of regulations.
For sure but aren’t there more regulations and building codes around heaters? It’s been close to a decade since I took heat and mass transfer courses but this seems like saying you can use your oven as a heater for your house in the wintertime.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

As the saying goes. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

Idk… government bonds or something?
Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @10:14PM (#49545178)
Pretty much none, but he’s been saying the sky is falling for the last decade.
Re:Mamdani Bans AI in NYC Schools on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @07:57PM (#49544227)
I read a quote that I think is analogous to AI usage. Knowledge cannot be transferred it can only be learned.
Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @09:56AM (#49536326)
You maybe right, but why don’t you put your prediction in Metacalculus or a prediction market. Thats what they are for.
Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @09:54AM (#49536281)
I don’t agree with your conclusion. It’s like Michael Burry, he’s gotten 10 of the last 2 economic crashes right.
Re:Reverse Engineering My ADHD Test on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @11:30AM (#49523331)
Yeah, I think this is the key point. I am better at handling chaos because I grew up around chaos (my mom has adhd and so do I) so I am much better at handling things falling apart.
Re:Reverse Engineering My ADHD Test on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @11:23AM (#49523205)
I call this the “this boy ain’t right” diagnosis
Very cool! I might use this later
Illegal for sure but rarely enforced.
I think the reasoning is that Google/Apple already have all your photos.
Why must you tempt the insurance companies

This is a sidenote, but I really like the design of the website. It’s very tasteful.

Hell yeah; a fellow sveltekit fan.
Re:A Preview of DuckDB v2.0 on Monday August 17, 2026 @01:34PM (#49334679)
Yes.

I have used it with WASM for some web applications for web use. I have also used with locally for querying 100 gigs of data. And I have used it in the cloud as the serverless gold layer for Apache superset.

I feel like familiarity and ease of use and “good enough” beat out the perfect db for the job in many occasions.

The AI is 6.99 per month
So what’s the alternative, Tauri?
Out of curiosity; how come?
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026) on Tuesday August 11, 2026 @11:55AM (#49260254)
I am working on napkinbook.com

It is a smart canvas for collaborating, sharing, and discovering insights.

That’s insane. And it did this in a weekend
Re: on Tuesday July 28, 2026 @09:02AM (#49083169)
Napkinbook is a smart canvas that helps me sketch out my thoughts without context switching. Nodes have the ability to compute live, so instead of a static diagram you get a working model you can think through, present, and share all without changing tabs.

Features include:

In-browser analytics database — run analysis and back-of-the-napkin calculations without leaving the page.

Live presentation layer — each viewer gets their own feed they can annotate personally.

Remote control from your phone — drive your presentation from your phone when you’re up presenting.

Real-time collaboration — multiple people work in a shared room, with the ability to invite and revoke members.

Interactive export — export the live, interactive diagrams you build in Napkinbook.

Reporting layer — turn your models into shareable reports.

Cross-device sync — your data follows you across devices.

I am looking for feedback.

Thank You.

Here’s my question, what if the writing looks like handwriting?
Re:Yes, your combo bet on Kalshi probably sucks on Wednesday July 15, 2026 @03:53PM (#48926231)
I wrote this blog to show that your (friends) combo bet on kalshi probably sucks.

This is something I wrote just so I can send a link that is interactive instead of explaining the math.

Me… obviously
Re:AI 2040 and the cult of intelligence on Saturday July 11, 2026 @03:20PM (#48874934)
Yes conspiracy is covered, now if you act it out… that’s a different story.
