Is this supposed to be a good thing?
Re:Free private Github repos for students and edu people on Thursday May 23, 2013 @08:57PM (#5760598)
Why not just use Bitbucket? I switched over all my private repos to Bitbucket some time ago and it is working pretty well.
Re:Send money with Gmail on Wednesday May 15, 2013 @07:56PM (#5715914)
I am a regular AdWords user and Google's customer service for it has been pretty spectacular.
I wonder why are they not using Mozilla Persona for their authentication system.

Re:How to get that native iOS feel with PhoneGap on Saturday September 01, 2012 @10:40PM (#4465941)
If the original title begins with a number or number + gratuitous adjective, we'd appreciate it if you'd crop it. E.g. translate "10 Ways To Do X" to "How To Do X," and "14 Amazing Ys" to "Ys." Exception: when the number is meaningful, e.g. "The 5 Platonic Solids."

Re:Google’s Marissa Mayer Tapped as Yahoo’s Chief on Tuesday July 17, 2012 @02:40AM (#4254452)
What's wrong with relying on A/B testing to inform design? In my opinion, except for the whole Google+ unifying process going on most Google products are highly usable.
I think this should have been something else. There's already a bunch of other services called Circle.
They would also cost 30% more.
Re:Facebook Groups Start Showing Exactly Who Saw Each Post on Wednesday July 11, 2012 @07:30PM (#4232029)

Re:Microsoft Expected to Introduce Tablet on Friday June 15, 2012 @04:23PM (#4118513)
I know this is not really plausible but I wish this would make some manufacturers switch to Ubuntu or some other Linux distro.
Re:Mac Pro gets half-assed “update” on Monday June 11, 2012 @06:36PM (#4097428)
I do not understand. What is the appropriate use case for a Mac Pro where something equivalent and much cheaper cannot be used?
Re:RubyMotion build system is now open source on Friday June 01, 2012 @10:08PM (#4056729)

Re:Kim Dotcom wins right to FBI files on Wednesday May 30, 2012 @02:51PM (#4044225)
I wonder if there is a service that will sync a local folder on my PC with more than one cloud service. For example, all my files in a folders are synced with Dropbox, GDrive AND SkyDrive.
Re:Why Facebook Will Fail Miserably Building a Smartphone on Wednesday May 30, 2012 @02:46PM (#4044198)
I think they tried Apple tried their hand at social with Ping which has not really been successful.

However, doesn't iOS now have some kind of special integration with Twitter? That must be pretty bad for Facebook.

RIM has around 16000 employees while Facebook has just 3000 employees. Even if Facebook buys RIM I think it would really difficult to integrate the two companies.
Technology journalism these days is embarrassingly bad.
Thanks for doing these! These podcasts are incredibly helpful for almost any HN reader.
Re:Lib-Ray: Non-DRM Open-Standards HD Video Format on Tuesday May 29, 2012 @02:40AM (#4036241)
I sincerely hope that this project gets fully funded but I think this comic (http://xkcd.com/927/) is very relevant in this context.
I am fairly sure he he did not literally mean what he said. He was merely employing hyperbole.

What I would like to know is how exactly is this different from the hundreds of open source PHP frameworks available out there?
