I visted this page hoping to see the PowerPC 970 top of the list, but all it gets is a "Dishonorable Mention". After going through three PowerMac G5s, all of which had their processors die within 4 years, I still bear a grudge.
"Think of the children" is used to pre-emptively attack any opposition to what is being proposed, i.e. "you are against this? you don't care about children?". It is despised by privacy advocates and I wouldn't support any group who used a tactic like that.

I don't know about the US but in Europe many police stations are situated beside a bridge. There is a reason for that.

With a lot of older people isolated in care facilities, and general advice for older people to stay at home, what online games are there out there suitable for families and friends to play together?

I think the reference was to languages in general. In James Joyce's Ulysses there are four or five chapters which all tell basically the same story, but written in wildly different styles - one like an ancient legend, another a 'stream of consciuosness', and so on.

We use Perl::Critic [0] to deal with issues like that. It has enabled us to develop a very consistent style, and helps new devs adopt to it quite quickly.

Interesting perspective there. Worth noting that Larry Wall trained as a linguist and "often compares Perl to a natural language and explains his decisions in Perl's design with linguistic rationale" [0]

So true. I think Perl golf could be Samuel Beckett.

I always get a good laugh when I'm reading an article on the Guardian about protecting my privacy and look up to see uMatrix reporting 182 trackers blocked.
As someone who (happily) pays for music and needs it in a high quality format, I really like Bandcamp. After buying say 10 tracks I notice on my credit card statement 3 or 4 transactions, one for each of the labels the tracks belong to, so I know the artist should end up with a fair cut.
"Julius-Christian Schreiner’s Silent Agents series, shot in London, Paris, Innsbruck and Hamburg, depicts examples of ‘hostile architecture’: subtle interventions in urban spaces designed to hinder people’s use of them."
I found this series of images quite disturbing. It made me think of the people who design these 'interventions'. Are they proud of their work, or do they have trouble sleeping at night?

I am writing a privacy policy for a community website. I want it to be concise and to only use plain English. I want to highlight that no external tracking services are used and why this is important. Are there any good examples out there that I could use as a template?
Yes I use it regularly. It has more or less the same features as the commercial software. Where it falls down is with the quality of the audio effects which are nowhere near as good as the ones you find on Serato or Traktor, but they're getting better all the time. On the other hand, you can customize almost every aspect of Mixxx. I have an unconventional controller setup so created my own skin (XML and CSS) and MIDI controls (Javascript) and that has really helped my 'creativity'.
Not for producing as such but there's also Mixxx DJ software where you can write your own controls and effects in Javascript.
Check maps and know where all the water bodies are in the area, and all the routes to get to them.
