I've been working on a few of my own engines (which I'm also developing
https://tanepiper.github.io/game-frame/ around - an agentic framework for game preservation)
Would be interesting to see how more accurate it could get with it, as this is along the lines of what I'm doing for POD: Planet of Death, Hardwar and Frontier: Elite II
Yes pretty much Opus 5.5. I only have x5 Max and it's bene quite efficient. On ChatGPT I'm only on Plus and keep running out of context too quickly.
I'd be interested trying it locally on my machine with something like Qwen - but not got around to that yet

After doing some experiments with decompiling and rebuilding games, I took together the experience and put together a framework of tools and skills around decompiling games and emulating or rebuilding them.

Using reverse-engineer-anything, ghidrea and Claude Opus max I've been working on reverse engineering the 2014 PC game Banished, re-implementing it in Rust and also adding new capabilities like being able to play in the browser.
I've never done this before - but a couple of days ago with Opus 5.5 on x5 Max account I started to decompile and port Banished to rust using ghidra and REA. It's not an abandoned game, but the last release was in 2014 and it's only available on Windows.
It's about 90% complete today, just working through smaller functions but the majority of the work is done and playable both natively and within the browser.
I'm now looking at a list of older or abandoned games I enjoyed and looking to see if it would be worth creating a modern executable for it.
We are truly in the dumbest timeline

Is it "Are we the baddies?"

So far from your behavior - a 1 day old account with its only issue to accuse the original developer - seems to stick. Maybe that's a clue to how you've handled this?
<dialog> still has issues to this day that haven't been resolved -
https://tane.dev/2021/02/revisiting-dark-patterns-with-the-h... - of course these can be implemented in any framework but this makes is much easier - at the platform level - to make a browser unusable, and as it's platform it's of course never been fixed.
You can have fun with web components (https://tanepiper.github.io/webc-humour/) but from my experience trying to build UIs with them - they end up becoming an additional abstraction that instead of just using a framework to build the entire experience, it creates annoying boundaries of having to deal with DOM attributes instead of just working with properties.
Yep and I hate it. I'm in several teams in my org and to find certain repos - the never show up in the sidebar quick search and 1 click - instead it's now Settings -> Teams -> (find team) -> Click on Repos -> (find the repo)
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought exactly the same...
The web is becoming very hostile to ad blockers. I use a VPN and I've noticed more and more sites just being obnoxious with their popups and even just crashing the site completely in a loop (looking at you EuroNews)
It literally says on the mod page "Voiced by Matt Berry"
Sorry why are you mentioning Nazis? I didn't - I think the lady sockpuppet doth protest too much...
I tried their new "survival" EVE Frontier game - oh boy was that disappointing.
What a shame for Cursor. I found it a great tool - I actually liked Composer 2.5; but now being bought by SpaceX has for a while left a bad taste - and they keep pushing Grok and now GrokBot.
I took the 50% discount instead of cancelling - but with this I'll likely not renew.
So sad to watch them go from great to mediocre in such a short time.
Have to agree - if they asked much sooner that would fit the pattern but this cuts out just as the article gets going... Bit annoying
Brittany - probably a bit west of Rennes. I like the coast but once you pass Saint-Brieuc the roads get a lot smaller.
Well until this year it seemed like the coolest and most stable part of France - also the least French part and reminds me of Scotland.
(We have friends who just sold up and moved to near Bordeaux - not sure it they are regretting it yet)
This. I'm originally from the UK, now in NL and the plan was to retire in France. Being close to a hospital is one requirement since some of these villages are over a hour away.
With that and climate change our plans might be changing
I'm very glad this now exists - fwiw almost a decade ago I worked on
https://github.com/takeoff-env/takeoff as a solution for making it easier for hot reloading your stack which is thankfully redundant today, and funnily enough the list of problems you identify is also something I've been working on.
Recently I've also been working on a VM stack for an agentic platform using pre-build images with some cloud injection scripts that simplifies the deployment of a private agentic cluster - in the end I went with full VM with a 4vCpu/8gb for the main agent and 2vCPU/4Gb - only the main agent had docker-in-docker, the rest rootless docker but I agree it's still an elevated risk.
I'll definitely have to give this a spin and see if I can simplify it to one larger box with this solution.
Something I noticed in Star City was how well they managed to find the aesthetic from the time of the USSR.
A set designer can of course find pieces from the time, but I always find with shows made now it always feels retro rather than authentic, but in this show they managed to find some genuine time capsules.
Getting flashback to coffeescript
This month I've noticed that my Cursor model use has gone up faster with Composer 2.5 - I have bothered with Grok yet. Despite the advertised twice-the-usage on Cursor own models I'd say it's burning faster.
Oh no.
What a shame.
Never mind.
On the 29th June 2026 - if you searched for Jim Carrey on Google, you would have been presented with a Knowledge Panel stating that he had died the previous day. The panel included a date of death and a biography written in the past tense.
Working in knowledge engineering I saw a failure mode in action on a global scale.

Hadn't heard of AOP before, but funnily enough for a couple of years now I've been calling working with LLMs "aspective coding" - closer to switching context on different features. Will read up a bit more on AOP as it seems like the prior art on this way of thinking.
One example - I'm building an MCP server at the moment for a database I'm working on. In ChatGPT I want to do dry-run posts first that roll back before committing - both are POST requests with a property - and it loves to trigger the safety layer in the tools (for various reasons, it's hard to debug exact causes)
But I think this would make it better - QUERY before POST means different request types, not just the same with a safety flag.
I don't actually hate this...
